I think that the only way you're going to nail a 10 (or 11) girl is if you have millions of dollars, a non maniac mansion, a bichon frise with a bow on it's head, a yacht, and multiple fast cars! i'm so sorry :/

About my song: why the hell has nobody done it before? I've had all the parts written out for at least two years, but I never had a way to record flute. I'm glad I finally got to do it. I just wish I was better at mixing/mastering. My goal was to recreate the song exactly like the SPC, only with real instruments. I know people usually don't like strict covers, but I think that song is perfect as is.
Anyway, that was a great month! I'll post my reviews when they're finished.

For the record, our official band name should have been Triple Stack. Oh well. We were all excited to make the song, and really pleased with how it turned out. I didn't think it would place that high, based on some of the comments it was getting (acapella hate). I really don't think we shoulda beat Hale Bopp...
Oh yeah, and the new theme made me scream like a little kid... here's why:
norg (8:10:03 PM): i wonder what next month's theme will be
EricDewd (8:10:49 PM): so we're on theme, right? not games series
EricDewd (8:10:53 PM): hmmmm
EricDewd (8:10:58 PM): no wait
EricDewd (8:11:02 PM): should be game series, my bad
norg (8:10:54 PM): no clue
norg (8:10:55 PM): i lost track. (:
EricDewd (8:11:13 PM): well, we just had Fire vs Ice
EricDewd (8:11:13 PM): so
EricDewd (8:11:22 PM): i would like...
EricDewd (8:12:09 PM): Metal Slug month
EricDewd (8:12:11 PM): fuck yeah
norg (8:12:02 PM): hahahaha
EricDewd (8:12:28 PM): hard for people to tackle, though
norg (8:14:31 PM): nothing like a good challenge
EricDewd (8:15:03 PM): street fighter would always be a good month
norg (8:14:58 PM): of course
EricDewd (8:15:21 PM): king's quest month, fuck it
EricDewd (8:15:22 PM): hahah
norg (8:15:11 PM): YES
EricDewd (8:15:25 PM): YES
norg (8:15:13 PM): Sierra month
EricDewd (8:15:31 PM): well, that's a theme
norg (8:15:23 PM): hmm true
EricDewd (8:15:52 PM): Mario Kart month
norg (8:16:11 PM): HOT
EricDewd (8:16:32 PM): way hott
EricDewd (8:16:47 PM): WAIT
EricDewd (8:16:51 PM): DONKEY KONG COUNTRY MONTH
EricDewd (8:16:55 PM): oh man, that would be so radd
norg (8:16:44 PM): ahahahah
EricDewd (8:17:03 PM): that would give me the hugerest boner
EricDewd (8:49:01 PM): OH MY FUCKING GOD
That is beyond awesome. More comments to come in a bit.

To reply to some of the comments/questions about my song:
The cicada sample was taken from a show called "When Cicadas Cry" (a suspense/horror/slasher type show--a really good one, that is), and most of the cicada sounds are being played in the background when people are talking and stuff, so I was only able to get one clear chirp, and had to repeat that over and over.
And I suck at mixing, so it wasn't "intentional" but yeah.
And of course, like with any arranging I do, it was a ripoff of bands I like: My Dying Bride's "Cry of Mankind" and "Crown of Sympathy", specifically.

Woot way to go Pingo!
House's and Ryan's tracks were my faves this month along with Kadmiums.
Granted, I didn't do a ton of stuff on the song, but spamtron did do a lot of work. So you should give him some credit.
But yeah, Ryan's was way up there for me. Honestly, the way I voted, I would've been okay if Danimal, Atomic Guy, Hale, or thesamareaye & aklmfreak had won. I did like a lot of the other stuff, too- these were just the tracks that I really wanted to encourage more of in the DoD.

My personal favorites were Marcello's Ambition and Searching for Globox. Sweet stuff.
Some people had some questions about my song. My track originates from the main title theme. Someone asked if I pitched shifted my vocals. I'm proud to say that nothing is pitch shifted on my vocal tracks. I practiced my ass off and did as many takes as it took to make myself happy. I'm very picky about my own voice, so I strive for near perfection. I'm even prone to calling it quits and canning a song if I don't like the sound of my own voice in it. Luckily, this track worked out pretty good for me. Oh yeah, and my main influence for this song came from Mr. Bungle's album, California. That stuff blows my mind.
Great month, everyone! Congrats to the top 3!

Gonzo got robbed.
congrads all.
gonzo is always solid, in my opinion. Shoulda known it was him by the Thundercross song selection. Ya know dude, I actually liked your song with Battlerager quite a bit!
ScaredSim and Brohounf also keep amazing me with their improvement! Vegeroth too!
