if he was my play by play guy I'd be very tired of hearing that ... overall though I think Hockey has the best and most eclectic mix of play by play guys in sports.

so many unusual/entertaining deliveries.

I like when the Washington Capitals guy calls an Ovechkin goal, he always puts on this super raspy voice and says something like "OVECHKIN. BULLSEYE." or "OVECHKIN WITH A BUZZBOMB!"

The Buffalo guy is hilarious when he sustains the word "SCORE" for about 30 seconds or whoever's name it happens to be.

The Thrashers guy always sounds like he's about to have a convulsion when he calls an Atlanta goal.

Wow, do u have the NHL channels or something? Who's your #1 fave team? I always hate when the games were broadcasted on NBC cause everyone just rags on Philly and kisses Crosby's ass. I honestly heard them say, "this is Sidney Crosby's team" while talking about Malkin. WTF is that????



I was at the game where they wouldn't let him back on the ice for the last half of the 3rd period here in Philly. He took at shot at Biron and they were all gonna pounce on him. I was also at the game where Derian Hatcher broke Sid's teeth.

I'm a Rangers fan. I'm not big into ragging on other teams so enjoy your team and I'll enjoy mine. haha. it's just a product of where you grew up usually anyway.

The Penguins basically are Crosby's team, he's the captain, they're building the team around him. Malkin is an insanely skilled player but he barely speaks English and he came here after Crosby and I guess Crosby has the leadership skills that the coaches and players recognized. Whatever, haha.

The Penguins are the only team in the atlantic division that I don't hate, i guess the Rangers Penguins rivalry hasn't developed yet. I could talk about why I hate the Flyers but I figure there's no need for that. Haha. The teams just hate each other.

The number one reason why I hate nationally broadcasted games is they do the ABSOLUTE WORST JOB of covering hockey games ever. They never show penalty replays, they miss all kinds of crap, don't question the referees, and VS. in particular is always having some kind of technical problems. I've watched broadcasts from pretty much every area and maybe it's a biased opinion but I have to say that MSG probably does the best job of covering every aspect of the game ... Sam Rosen and Joe Micheletti may not be much of a play calling tandem but MSG always shows TONS of replays of everything... it's like day and night compared to national games where they DONT EVEN SHOW GOAL REPLAYS SOMETIMES. JEEZ.

Yeah, seriously, today was the first game I've watched in a long time that wasn't on the Comcast sports channel. I don't have anything other than basic cable, Comcast owns the Flyers, I think, so it's very rare for a home game to be aired on anything but the Comcast channel. Actually, it's pretty rare for any hockey game other than a Flyers game to be aired around here :-/

My friend and I had a discussion last week about how the NHL gets the shaft because it's so rarely aired, and ESPN barely covers it, and there are times when they actually don't air entire games. So shitty.

what bugs me about the Canadiens is the audience has a tendency to cheer violently whenever one of their players falls and then boo right after that. It's as if they know nothing about hockey and expect everything to be a penalty, even things clearly within the rules.

Maybe they're just overzealous. There sure are a lot of them.

people will be asking for Briere's head, I know that. He seems to take an unproportional amount of heat for his team's struggles. The Flyers have a couple of pretty good young players... between Richards and Carter, those guys are going to be dominant.... Sucks about Gagne for you guys though.
