hahahahhahahhahahaha
I think crimson explains diablo pretty well ; )
I don't know, the first one I really liked but the second was kind of just the same to me, so the third would have to really impress me if I'm going to play it
Honestly I liked other rpgs a lot better. The repetition involved in diablo leaves me more inclined towards rpgs with deeper story and customization (Baldur's Gate 1&2 are kind of like a diablo with a lot of story/quests and a lot of classes and like 600 spells). For competetive online rpgness I'd prefer dota (less time investment, no need to play more than 10 hours a week).
The diablos are always a blast for the first 3 months tho, after that it gets to be too much of the same thing for me

I loved the story too it's just most of it was random monsters, simple quests, and uninteresting bosses
The diablo story and universe is cool as shit, wars in heaven and hell and between the two, ancient orders protecting the seals and shit like that, I love all of it, but I just wish they had less hack and slash and more story because it could be so awesome
I remember one of the more interesting ones was in the original where a guy was being converted to a dark knight but he was so pure he was resisting it. He needed you to find some elixir or something but it was really interesting him fighting the curse and doing what he could with his last moments of humanity. There was a real morality thing to it and it was good, from what I remember 10 years ago. More stuff like that and I'd be much happier.

I never really "noticed" any kind of story in Diablo. Now, of course, last time I played the original is like 9 years ago, and I was introduced to II by following my mates on a speedrun through the game online. After watching the gameplay video here though, I'm kind of positive. It looks fun, although not revolutionary in any way. The "destructive environment" doesn't really impress me though, even in this video it doesn't look like it has any real impact on anything.

blizzard cancels any games they think will suck
warcraft adventures is a good example, they were going to make some warcraft adventure game after wc2 came out but they cancelled it because they thought it wouldn't live up to expectations
