That's awesome. This stuff is really good. Your version of Splash Woman sounds better than the one in MM9.

I say even more so for Galaxy Man (which was already a tune that I dug).

It is finished! As Mega Man 9.5 though. I (and a friend) thought that I shouldn't try to conform to the Mega Man 9 thing so strictly, as the game has been out awhile and stuff.
Track List (with commentary!):
0:00 - Logo
Yeah this is an approximation basically.. I think I got it mostly right.
0:03 - Title
Short cheesy title theme. Uses Mega Man 6 drums.
0:24 - Select Screen
Sort of sounds like the Mega Man 2 select music, and it uses a chord structure from Light's Castle.
0:35 - Boss Selected
An attempt at a copy of Mega Man III (gameboy)'s song, but it was tough as the sounds are different.
0:42 - Orbit Man (Galaxy)
Originally started out as Galaxy Man. This is the general spacey theme. Got the idea of the sound on the squares from Mega Man 4.
1:24 - Jungle Man
This is a combination of two OHCs. This would have been Plug Man, but I couldn't think of anything for him for the longest time, so I kinda scrapped what I had and came up with this instead.
2:01 - Echo Man (Concrete)
Same as the old Concrete Man song, but it's no longer Unce, and its drums are kinda close to Wood Man's for a bit.
2:33 - Casino Man (Hornet)
Yeah, part of it sounds like Batman (NES)'s first level. It's funny because I hadn't heard that song until after I wrote it (like a year later). I think someone in this thread alluded to it, and I had no idea why... then I heard the song and was like "NO WAY!"
3:18 - Forge Man (Magma)
Yep, beat is like T2. I hadn't really thought of it.. but it makes sense
4:23 - uhm... Jewel.. woman? (Jewel)
I always thought Jewel Man's music should be sassy because he looks like he's a grrl who wants evrythng. So I made it sound a bit like Ducktales' African Mines meets Skull Man.
5:08 - Scuba Man (Splash)
Borrows a couple ideas from Bubble Man but then changes course a little.
6:15 - Aurora Man (Tornado)
Didn't ever like the Tornado Man song in MM9, so I wrote this instead. It sounds more airy, and I think "Aurora" probably fits it better... just like how Tornado Man doesn't even fit his level very well.
7:04 - Boss
Sounds faster than the MM9 one. I know this is probably the most unorthodox song in the game, but I was annoyed by MM9's slow-paced boss battles, that is, until I got to the Wily stages... then it made sense with 2-3 minute battles.
7:40 - Wily Castle Intro
7:46 - Wily Castle 1 (Into Wily's Fortress)
Yeah yeah, this is a cover essentially.. a different version of the older song with nicer volumes and a nice new noise pitch envelope that I feel sounds better.
8:45 - Wily Castle 2 (Fighting On)
This sounds similar to another song done by Sivak (at the Famitracker forums) but this came a couple months before his did, though it wasn't as publicly released.
9:36 - Wily Castle 3 (The Maze)
This is a (faster) nearly direct cover of a Game Gear song I wrote awhile back.
10:27 - Wily's Stomping Machine / 10:55 - Wily's Saucer + Stomping Machine
The idea here is that you fight the big machine first, then part of it blows up and the saucer flies out of it-- then you have to fight BOTH at the same time.
11:22 - You won..er
11:27 - Light's Theme
You won! Except now, Dr. Light steps in and says he's been using Wily on this one. While everyone was focused on Wily, Light had built the ultimate weapon to destroy humanity. He's sick of being blamed for Wily's mistakes and never being appreciated.
11:49 - Light's Castle Intro
11:59 - Light's Castle
Wrote this awhile back from a recording of me humming on my cellphone. Yeah the beginning sounds a little like the Mega Man 3 stage select song.
13:03 - Light's Moon Base / Robotic Weapons Factory
Mega Man finds a teleporter in Light's Castle, and is teleported to Light's Moon Base! This level would be full of crazy traps and guns shooting everywhere.
14:07 - Light's Ultimate Solution / Giant War Machine
Mega Man has to use Rush Jet between sections of the boss to dodge the debris flying everywhere. Large multi-screen boss that has 2 energy bars.
AAAAND boom, it does. Ideally I would have put a "you win" + "credits" song, but unfortunately, I ran out of space in the 32KB file... and that was the goal of this, to cram as much as I could into 32KB.

Somehow, I prefered the old version of Concrete Man's theme, but it's still excellent of course.
Listening to the rest of it right now!
[EDIT] 10:27 and onwards is pure, unaltered WIN, chiptune-wise, and story-in-your-post-wise.
