I have the very first issue of Nintendo Power in mint condition. Bagged and boarded, like a true Urkle.

I hate to pull this one out, but... pics or it didn't happen. Not because I think you'd lie about that, but because I want to see that.

i cross'd a barrier into SCOOPvilLe yesterday and dunked with the best jammers and fresh dip ballers roundabout through an awesome bomb dunk party.

I had a subscription for a couple of years, back in elementary school. Shit rocked. I'll see if I can pull 'em out and list them here.

You know what would be cool? And this might already be out there, so I'll have to look, but: an index of what games are covered in every NES era Nintendo Power issue. If it doesn't exist, I bet between all the shizzies we have every issue necessary, and could put something like that together.

I welcome that idea strongly. I'll for sure get around to digging up my issues...I have quite a few, so there should be a good number of titles that I can bring forward! :D

that would be the Nintendo Power Index, which Nintendo itself published several times with added issues to each iteration.

i have the 3rd edition that covers issues 1-70, and it's definitely swell as a non-digital resource.

there's a few digital versions out there, but i think i still like this one best for its pure simplicity:

DAMMIT DON'T SHOW IT TO US

This is something we have to learn to do as TheShizz.

(I jest. That's awesome.)

NP in its early days (everything before the Play It Loud era) was a thing of beauty, its format was so unique, much better than any other game mag IMO. Its maps and screenshots approach let the game itself do the talking, much more reliable than most reviews. I've heard it's gotten good again in recent years, I guess I should check it out sometime.

Maybe I'll do a video on the first issue of Nintendo Power, mostly because taking a million pics is a pain the ass. It's at my dad's place along with like....3 or 4 years worth of GamePro and a bunch of other shit that I left there..

I remember seeing all of the apparel and other such items from the DKC era mags and thinking "HOLY CRAP, I MUST OWN THESE," but never got the chance. Totally spacing on the fact that I already owned this wallet:

Also, I drew a picture of Mog and so wanted to send it in to get published in the fan art section, but since I didn't have a subscription I didn't think I'd ever know if it got published and couldn't handle not knowing. Looking back I should have just sent the damn thing in.

You know what? Maybe we should make a different sidequest out of this.

There are okay chances that between all of us we DON'T have every single issue. Maybe we can find out what percentage of magazines we DO own?

Of course, this could be just a lame idea because 1) I brought it up and more importantly 2) it doesn't bring much of a spectacular goal to be achieved. Instead of finding out for ourselves all the games covered by the mag, we'd be...finding out what mags are owned...by us. And...that's it.

Pretty cool, indeed! I think I had one of those lunchboxes...

Demonstray: It's not a terrible idea, but we're probably too lazy for the minimal payoff.

I have about 45 issues (that count includes the specials and guides) between issue 16 and 65 I think. A lot of them have the posters, too. My brother found them in a box by a garbage can at a flea market a few years ago.

Castle man, take me by the hand lead me to the land, of the hidden ham.
