[Brandon Strader]

Hi.

I'm Brandon Strader, a musician in Pennsylvania. Some of you may have heard about me starting a Final Fantasy 9 project over at ocremix. Unfortunately, the decision was ultimately made to hand the project over to Fishy due to its scope, and lack of community support.

As a result, I decided to try something much smaller and started a Final Fantasy 1 project.

I am here to ask for the support of The Shizz community, hopefully to gain some remixing help for this project. I don't post very often here, but I admire your music from afar, and listen to the Dwelling of Duels. Chances are if you're reading this and make music, I'm probably aware of you and your work already if you are fairly active.

Anyway, we're focusing on the Final Fantasy 1 NES original soundtrack, not the remade / expanded one like for Dawn of Souls. We're covering about 19 of the 20 tracks excluding 'Save Music', which is very short. CyriltheWolf and I have agreed to start a band and cover any songs that don't get remixed. We are going to allow any genre, but I figure most of it will end up being prog / metal.

Sick, I must say that it would probably kick far more ass working with the shizz as opposed to OCR. OCR is great in their own right, but their compilations always fall short in my opinion...

Yeah, I figured coming to the Shizz would definitely kick the quality up a notch for the album. Best place to start recruiting.

Colin did a fantastic medley of FF1 songs, I learned a bunch of em except for Dwarves/Matoya...and that was the first time I ever really listened to the death music (back when I was a kid and played the game I would be too enraged to care whenever my party died...) and god damn is that tune awesome!!

Hopefully this project doesn't fall prey to one of the worst things the OCR projects does, and that's this inane obsession with having 40-50 track albums. If people aren't pumped about taking songs, there's a reason. I would just have open submissions until a certain date and just go with it, then dump the project when the people are finished their tracks. Please don't have this linger for like ten years and have it fade into the ether. The Shizz will tear this project's ass to pieces if you let them, but let shitty shit slide if nobody takes some tracks. I'm pumped to see where my homies take this one.
