CV Hacks I'm making

Some of you already know, but I've been working with some other talented people making high profile rom hacks of Castlevania games. I made one out of the original Castlevania a few years ago (Chorus of Mysteries) but that game is pretty much a mickey mouse hack compared to what's being done on these two. Also, like Chorus, I'm hoping they can be playable on an NES someday.
The Castlevania 3 hack, called "Cadence of Agony" has been in the works since 2008, though work has slowed since mid 2009. Rather than being a "start to finish" game like the original Dracula's Curse this game is a Symphony of the Night style "Metrovania", and the vast majority of the work making this game being able to support this mode of gameplay has been done. A lot of the graphics and music have been done as well. All that remains is the game itself, which is freaking massive. I really want the project finished, but because of the sheer magnitude of this project, it could still be a couple of years before it's completed.
The other game is a remake of Simon's Quest (made from Simon's Quest), a project I joined few months ago mainly to take a break from the other game. The goal here is to make an improvement of the original game, make it a more exciting, less annoying new Castlevania 2 experience. It most likely won't be anything near the technical achievement that the CV3 game is, but I feel it could still be just as epic of a game.
So, here's progress!

Goddamn it Chris, hopefully you come back down in the summer so you can hang out at my place, beat some shitty games and discuss the finer points of NES music again. I miss kickin' it with ya.

I think that the only way you're going to nail a 10 (or 11) girl is if you have millions of dollars, a non maniac mansion, a bichon frise with a bow on it's head, a yacht, and multiple fast cars! i'm so sorry :/

Is that original music done in a CV-esque style or remixes of music from other CV games?
Nah, just done in the CV style. They are completely original, but if they aren't it would have been a mental accident or a coincidence. One of the songs someone pointed out in the chiptune thread I borrowed a motif from Vampire Killer, which was actually intentional.
Holy shit, I'm so glad you're still working on the CV3 demo. I read on a forum back in December that it was cancelled and every once in a while I'd play the demo you gave me cause I thought it was the closest to a finished product anyone would ever get. Really glad you're back into this. And totally stoked about the CV2 hack as well!

Yeah, I said it would be canceled, but it was a desperate ploy to make sure I could kick the rom hacking "addiction". But I quickly began doing nothing else, so I decided to go back and realized it's not such a bad addiction. And yes, CALIFORNIA! CALIFORNIA!!! is a must for the summer.
