I used to have a bunch of pictures from around town of mistakes made on signs and such, but lost most of them. I have a few new ones and continue to take more when I see an opportunity. A friend of mine that went to school here used to say it was no good, and sometimes I do believe the education system has failed people here.

Here are some good examples:

This was on every dashboard in a fleet of 20-30 cabs. (I know this is also a cost issue, i.e. they can't afford to fix them, but it still made me laugh! :D)

Saw this one last night.

I also see a TON of punctuation errors around. Most of the time, it involves superflous apostrophes, like apple's, orange's, wire's, box's, etc... Many of them were found at a health food store where every single price sticker showed the name of the company; Natures's Best. :( Caesar is also spelled Ceasar in many menus. Sorry, menu's. Check your menu next time you eat out.

There was also the spray painted 'NO PARKIG' at Honda (fixed quickly) and the three huge signs in their lot advertising the Honda Ridegline (Ridgeline).

There's also the local pizza joint that's open from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM every day. (did have a picture of that, but I don't think that sign is there anymore)

I also used to stay at the, according to the front door mat, Qulaity Inn in Romulus, Michigan. :P The quality of the service was just about as good.

P.S. I turneded it into a blog: http://ripplinsrederick.blogspot.com/

I like how the name Mary is a verb and it's a statement rather than a question. :P

there's a sign above the sidewalk close to my work that says "Your going the wrong way! blah-blah is back here", or something to that effect, heh.

The best thing I ever saw was in my neighborhood in Anchorage, I can't remember exactly what it was for but they had the word "school" painted on the pavement (maybe "school parking" or something like that) and it was fucking spelled "shcool".

Definitely keep your kids away from that school.

There's a bubble tea place in Seattle that has a ton of spelling mistakes on their menu. My favorite is "buleberry".

And I don't like pineapple much, either, especially not on its own! <_< Oh, and they misspell it in French on the other side of the label. (jaqcuier instead of jacquier) I've been buying it for several years now and they have yet to fix it.

Oh, and there's a Chinese restaurant called The Bleu Garden here. Not sure what the story is on that one, because I kinda think it also had the same name when it was the previous restaurant.

Maybe it's a demand for a foursome between Will, Mary, the sign-holder, and the sign-reader.

That may be the most clever interpretation of anything ever.

I'm still always thoroughly amused whenever I see a grocer's apostrophe. "Potato's 30p", etc. I'm enough of a boring pedant to actually ask the shopkeeper if I can see the 30p that belongs to the potato, and the potato that's so sophisticated it has the ability to accrue wealth. I'd very much like to meet this capitalist potato.

Then I threaten to sue them under the Advertising Standards Act for hawking a potato which can't possibly exist.

HEY HAVE YOU GUYZ EVUR SEEN ENGRISH.COM?

Big fan for many years! But the stuff on that site gets a pass in this thread because this is about people who should know better. ;)
