I must say, I'm pretty excited about the 3DS. I've always been totally into stereoscopic 3D stuff so I'll definitely be grabbing this thing whenever they get around to releasing it.

One thing that kinda struck me, though, is they decided to put the analog stick on the left side rather than the more sensible right side. I guess they're really not planning on having many first- or third- person shooters? Or they just want you to use the touchscreen for looking like in the regular DS?

Can't wait! I happen to love 3D stuff too. I hope the effect works as good as people are saying it does so far.

Thank GAWD they put an analog stick above the d-pad, as I'd hoped they would. I just hope that this so called "slider-pad" is decent enough to control characters in 3D space with ease, if that's its intended use. That, for me, was the only thing missing from the DS when it came to 3D platformers.

All in all, I'm very excited for the 3DS, above and beyond everything else that was shown at E3 this year so far.

Kid Icarus alone gets me way excited and to think it's a launch title. Too cool.

Hey so, does this require 3D glasses? Like, wearing 3D glasses as just a huge nuisance when you're playing DS? Because I could really do with keeping to no unnecessary accessories when I play video games.

It's glasses-free, using a parallax barrier technique.

So no need for glasses, but you'll need to be in the "sweet spot" to get the effect.
