Find any cool stuff lately? I'm always interested to see what treasures people find dirt cheap. :)

Stuff I got this week...

Monday

$1 each.

The poster (laminated and plaqued, 12"x36") was $1, and the CD changer, which works perfectly, and is possibly my best thrift store purchase EVER, was $20! They're still going for $200+ on eBay! I always wanted one, but they were so expensive. I was really in the right place at the right time! The remote I bought for it on eBay later that night was $3 more than the machine. Ha!

Thursday

SNES games were $2 each and Spider-Man was...25¢! :P

Definitely some awesome finds! I always wonder about some of the old stereo equipment I see in thrift stores. I have a coworker who has made big money off them in the past, but of course I would never know what to look for.

So I guess some of this could go in the game hunt thread, and some could not. Not sure if we need two similar threads, but whatever happens happens.

i cross'd a barrier into SCOOPvilLe yesterday and dunked with the best jammers and fresh dip ballers roundabout through an awesome bomb dunk party.

I know what you're saying, but I just figure this would be for general purchases, which may or may not incluse video game stuff. I got a couple of neckties and some LPs, too. Haha. ;)

There's a magical wonderland 'round these parts called "America's Thrift Store." Everything in the store is priced on one of five colored labels (orange, blue, white, green, or yellow). Every week, three random colors are on sale at respective points of 30, 50, and 70 percent off. The Mortal Kombat cart was $0.39 at 70% off.

Man, at some point, it's like why even bother doing a transaction for 12 cents, ya know?

The best thrift store finds I ever had was a Super Nintendo with Mario Paint (including mouse) for 30 bucks. Then followed by a Tekken 2 arcade stick for 2 bucks and then NBA Jam TE for a buck. That's over a period of 3-4 years too. Our thrift stores don't that that great of stuff around here sadly.

I think I remember you posting about that arcade stick. Can I see the picture again? :D

I seem to have lost that picture of my arcade stick from when my HD crashed a few months back. I'll have to take another pic of it here.

Every time I go to the thrift stores around here, there's never anything worthwhile. I almost bought an equalizer once, but as I was walking to the cash register I saw that it had a weird proprietary power connection, making it essentially useless without a matching brand receiver. :(

There's a series of thrift stores close by that go by the name of Unique. Once upon a time they were haven for Famicom games in box stuck in the Kids VHS section. Everyone found out they were awesome and it's been slim pickin's ever since.

This is my best find:

The entire thing is here. Complete and in box. Batteries were corroded to shit but I managed to clean it up. Along with this, we found in box Super Famicom Mario Paint, and Super Famicom copies of Mother 2 and Street Fighter 2. That was the grandest haul we've had.

Last week I scored this:

Other things found include a Sega Dreamcast leather and suede jacket, and all kinds of other shit. A lot of NES/SNES games, and a lot of NES/SNES/GB hardware. Every now and then I'll find a broken DMG-001 for $2 and fix it up. It's nice. I've also scored somewhere around 8 copies of Oregon Trail 2. One complete in box with the educational VHS and all. I laughed pretty hard.
