[Rize]

I thought it would be cool to have a Shizz Map to mark roughly where folks reside. It could be useful for those planning a road trip or identifying optimal locations for regional gatherings. Other info could also be posted (think of it as a Shizz Wiki Map). You can make a request to be added below, or do it yourself using a Google account (note: if you edit, your Google account "nickname" will be visibly associated as the last person who edited a given marker/feature).

Just mark a location with whatever degree of accuracy you're comfortable with (exact locations/addresses and personal info not recommended), put your Shizzname and any relevant info in the description box.

You should not add other people unless they approve it first. If this (or vandalism) became a problem I could restrict editing to specific users. I don't think that will be necessary. It's an unlisted map so you have to know the URL to find it.

Instructions/Reference:

0) If you don't have gmail or some other Google account, create one here and log in

1) Click here to open the map

2) Press the EDIT button on the left pane.

3) Find your city.

4) Right click your location, select "add a place marker", edit the details...

5) Press the SAVE button on the left pane (where the EDIT button was; you have to scroll to the top of the list of marks/names)

6) Press DONE to leave EDIT mode

If this sounds like a bad idea, feel free to castigate me for a while before letting the thread die

I'm sure we did this many years ago but I wouldn't know where to find it now.

It could be done, but then if you have many markers in one city (say Phoenix?) then when you're zoomed out you won't be able to tell how many it is.

But what the hell, we can always consolidate later if it's a problem (not to mention like 7 people already went that way *shrug*)

Whoever did Athens, GA should correct it then (Shizz name as marker name from now on; one marker per shizzie)

we should, instead, make up a fantasy/Forgotten Realms style map of The Shizz and then go from there.

is this thing about quickly seeing how many are in an area for bombing or for a reference.
because if its reference, then if i'm looking for rize, i wouldn't know to start at baton roooj.

At the end of the day, people are apparently going to do whatever they want, so just have at it

It looks like a list of markers appears on the left, so you can always ctrl+F to search for whatever you need.

What happened was, back in the day either the minibosses or "bossies" had a wiki page that was threatened with deletion, so in order to prove our relevance we created a map and users of the shizz clicked their location on the map and saved all the locals/users. There ended up being a lot of people.
