The mountain path to get to the Greybeards... sooooooo pretty! I'm gonna spend like half my time in this game staring at the scenery.

I used to love looking at the night sky in Oblivion Cyrodiil while this theme was playing:

Well I just, unfortunately, discovered that they have yet to address what I find to be a huge flaw in the ES game design. The save system. I started a second character to see if the beginning of the game played out any differently depending on whether you chose to follow the stormcloak or the imperial. The only difference is that you stay with Alvor the Blacksmith instead of Hod at the mill. But the fucking autosave overwrote my last save from my main character, costing me several hours of work. They really need to use seperate save systems for each character. This used to happen to me in oblvion and it drove me nuts.

Damn that sucks man... It overwrote all 3 of your auto saves?? I've been saving manually every time I go through a door.

I had been manually saving quite often as well, but I had just spent several hours doing some quests, then cleaned up my saves because I was at around 30 saves, so I deleted all but 3 and the latest one got overwritten.

I typically treat auto-saves as volatile memory for any game I play. I do manual saves before and after major game events, and if an event ends up being pretty interesting I move on to another save file and leave that old save in place.

I had the funniest fucking day at work today. One of the fitness instructors, funny guy but really REALLY buff, came up to me and asked me how my Skyrim playthrough was coming along. I was like "Whoa uh...it's going great, I'm around level 20 right now. Have you been playing it?" Turns out he is, and we went back and forth with hilarious stories about our triumphs and failures in Oblivion and Skyrim thus far.
