i like iron maiden, let us share some the treasure's...im one of them those guys that appreciate nearly everything from these folks, from the very early stuff, to the blaze era, to their recent stuff, i find a connection with each and every song in some way, i'm already in a pretty decent mood just for the sake of listening to maiden so i suppose i could be biased in some regards, but still, this is the one band that really impacted me musically, the first, i suppose i had video game music as i was growing up but maiden was the first true band i could really appreciate and immerse myself into, and then you got eddie, what a guy...besides actual maiden, we could share everything from covers, to bruce and blaze's solo albums and other band members endeavors the ventured through away from maiden...as well as discussing our personal maiden experiences because whats better then seeing iron maiden live

This is a perfect time for an Iron Maiden thread (for me at least) as I'm going to see them live in concert for the first time tonight. It's the first time they've been to Tampa in roughly 20 years, so I'm expecting it to be bonkers.

My first exposure to Iron Maiden was back in 5th Grade when I was hanging out at a friend's house who happened to share a bedroom with his older brother. His brother had these two posters on the wall above his bed and I was immediately blown away with the imagery.



I didn't even get a chance to hear the band until a few months later when I finally obtained a copy of Killers on cassette tape. I was so convinced that Iron Maiden was the most evil band in the world just based on those album covers that I passed on asking my parents to buy one of their albums and instead enlisted the help of an older neighborhood kid go out and buy the tape for me. It was like I was buying alcohol or something! Anyhow, I heard the tape and I've been a metalhead ever since.

There's an all-female Iron Maiden cover band playing down the street next month called The Iron Maidens. Far out!

I've seen them...three times? Even on the dreadful Ozzfest tour. I think that was enough for me. Bruce is a champ. Steve Harris was an idol of mine for a long time. I remember spending an entire afternoon at my grandma's house learning all of Killers on bass. Great album.

I was up front for Maiden the first time I saw them high-fived Bruce Dickinson and I'm pretty sure that, somewhere, something exploded. My brother caught Adrian's wristband and kept it. Then he caught Niko McBrain's wristband and, instead of giving it to me, his brother, he gave it to my friend. Douchebag.
Same show where I hugged Dimebag Darrel (he was just walking around) and had Rob Halford point at me and give me the metal horns. Later in life, he would call me cute.

Next time I saw Maiden was totally on a whim, drove to CA for a last-minute road trip for the Matter of Life and Death tour. 3 Inches of Blood opened and we didn't even realize it until they started, which was awesome.

I love Iron Maiden immensely. I first heard Number of the Beast and Killers when I was still in high school; it wasn't until I was in my 20s or so that I really got into Iron Maiden. Powerslave is probably my favorite album of theirs, although each album has it's greats and really, even in Maiden's worst is still better than many bands' best.

Maiden is probably the most consistent when it comes to the quality of their album covers (very recent covers notwithstanding). Derek Riggs is one of my favorite artists, a great visionary that is a shame he and Maiden had a falling out. Factoid: He did the cover for the Iron Maidens debut album.

I got to see them a couple of years ago and it was fucking amazing. I could've seen them on Ozzfest, unfortunately with it being over 100F in Phoenix at the time and I didn't drink as much water as I should've, I had to bail as I was suffering from heat exhaustion.

Prowler is definitely my favorite Maiden jam. There's something about the first two Maiden albums that I just can't get over (in a good way). I can say for sure that I like them just a bit more than Dickenson's albums, not that I dislike him. Anyways, I dig Maiden.

First Maiden song I ever really latched onto was "Childhoods End". What struck me was it kinda sounded like it could of been from a video game (or at least a vgm cover). Been listening to Maiden ever since.

I first heard Maiden on the Carmageddon 2 soundtrack and have been hooked ever since.
Saw them once when they played here a few years ago, it was amazing even though the sound was kinda bad.

i saw them back in september at dante's, played alot of classics like alexander the great and phantom of the opera...geez, women that know their maiden and play it are alright in my book

it was great to realize this, i always liked how i would hear the maiden song first before i knew about the book, or was more inclined to read it...i was much more excited to read lord of the flies or brave new world just because maiden had a song based on them, i also remember doing a presentation in school on the only poem i could recognize at the time, rime of the ancient mariner

Just saw them for the first time with Djinnocide in Tampa. I had food poisoning the night before and almost didn't make it. I figured the worst thing that could happen would be I'd shit my pants, and because I was the driver my friends couldn't ditch me and they would have to deal with it. Luckily for me and the crew I didn't shit myself and we all had a great time.
