I already realized this mix might not adhere to the strict standards of the OCR submission requirements, but I was curious to see if the judging process was flexible enough to allow (what I think is) an excellent cover with a lot of original solos. The extensive solos gave them the chance to allow it as an original interpretation despite the first half being a straight cover. DragonAvenger got this, and OA argued that a track that is obscure and not oft covered should be allowed a no frills arrangement anyway. And why not? There's also something to be said for increasing the fidelity of the original material if it's done well. Props to them.
But I guess liberal activist judges aren't appreciated at OCR. If the rest are going to follow the law that rigidly, then why do they need so many judges? Anyway, I'm not going to waste my time anymore. If someone hasn't come up with a proper replacement for vgmix by next year, I'm going to give it a go once I graduate. I need to level up my web programming skills anyway.

better cancel OCR
The idea isn't to topple OCR or even to spite them, just to fill the niche that vgmix has left open. I've been thinking of the best way to design a site for quite a while and I think I can make something minimalist and secure while keeping it appealing.

make it so you can easily play a bunch of emulated formats right in your browser with updated sets of game music rips.
have like/ratings buttons for everything, and let the users view their personal databases of songs and artists they like or rate.
have live a/v listening party / dj area with chat and rating functions.
