I have to, unfortunately, nix my plans for MAG X. The money was an issue but Viking was kicking me some of his leftover donations and the MAGfund was going to cover the bulk of the rest. My wife even said that if most of my way was getting covered it would be absurd not to go, but my time off wasn't approved as I'm still in my probationary period at the new job. It's a super bummer because I was getting stoked for my first MAG and to hang with everyone, but I got the answer that it's a no-go. The funny thing is that even at my old job I wouldn't have been able to make it as Magfest always fell on the busiest weekend of the year, and this time I have to wait until April to get time off. It sucks that I can't go, but at the same time I'm very thankful to have a job. I'm already accruing vacation time, though, and you can bet my own MAG XI fund is starting now. Sorry if I got anyone's hopes up. Big hugs and bigger loves to everyone who lit a fire under my ass to try and put it together and make it happen.

You know what this means don't you?

Two words: Boss fight.

HOLY SHIT! Nobuo Uematsu! I'm totally going this year. When is it, now? Sorry, I, like, never read about 80% of the threads here. I'm a bad Shizzie.

The true business of people should be to go back to school and think about whatever it was they were thinking about before somebody came along and told them they had to earn a living."

and I mean it in the best way possible

I could not stop laughing at this for like 5 straight minutes. We need to find a satanic goat mask.

Colin, Matsu, and I went to a Fat party where everyone was pretty fat and I went to get a beer and this fat girl sat between Colin and Matsu on the futon and she sank while they were boosted up.
That party also had Fat Kareshi and we were all excited so when we left I said "bye Fat Kareshi!!" and he was all like "huaghaughahhaha byeeeeeee"

Okay, important question: Are there shows on sunday too? I need to know when to book my return flight.

NO in fact forget sunday. MAGfest is over saturday night. sunday morning is "closing ceremonies" until noon, but really everyone checks out and leaves that morning. I booked mine thinking sunday was really the last day, but by sunday night there were like 5 people left at the hotel.

Earthbound Papa's Mixes may not be a super duper as the first 2 BM albums(The 3rd one is still probably my favorite), but I dun care the music is still GUD.

I may have to sell one of my guitars for chump change and an old amp and some other junk if I wanna go.

Remember folks, call him "Uematsu sensei", and always be genuflecting when in his presence. Do not be so nervous that you vomit, or he will scorn all of America and say bad things about us to Japan.

I thought that it was supposed to be "Uematsu-sama."

Sama can be used to show respect to anyone above you, but sensei can be used "to show respect to someone who has achieved a certain level of mastery in an art form or some other skill: accomplished novelists, sweepstakers, musicians, and artists for example are addressed in this way."

I don't know if one is considered "higher" or more respectful than another.

Well I understand that's how it works in Japanese culture.
But this isn't Japan. Nor is our culture theirs.
But I guess to them, not addressing someone with an honorific like Sensei or Sama would be disrespectful.
And that we should respect Japanese culture or something?
