So I'm excited about doing another shizzfest and have been talking to different folks and trying to figure out the best time to do it, as well as where/when/who blah blah blah....


I would like to get your guys input on this because honestly, you are the reason why I'm doing this and I want as many out of towners as possible to make it.

This is no replacement for magfest and want to stay as far away from mag as possible so as not to interfere with people having to choose one over the other.

This will be in Phoenix and do not want to have this event during the hottest months of the year. I wish I could do the event in November or February cause the weather is so great out here during that time that it would be a great get away for people living in snow country. But I am thinking my time frame is limited to just before summer, and just after summer.

I am thinking around the beginning of may end of April or after summer like late September/early October....
While I really like the idea of doing this later in the year, I feel like this might affect many peoples choice to go to Magfest. However if the majority of people don't find this to be an issue, I will stick with the plan to have it in the October time frame, otherwise I will shoot for early may.

Let me know what you guys think and then I will bring up more questions along the way.

Actually, later in the year (like October) is even better for me. I seem to recall it taking place last year shortly after Magfest, but putting some distance between the two events is definitely helpful on the financial end of things.

i vote for later in the year. more time to plan, more time for people to save money (for mag and shizzfet).

I would LIKE to attend but probably won't be financially capable. We'll just see what happens though.

What's the nearest airport there in PHX? I realize this thread began as a precursor, but adding some pertinent info like that might be useful to those of us travelling from abroad.

I was already planning on driving out from Socali for this (if it happened).
I like the idea of late April, early May, before it gets hot as hell.

Phoenix Sky Harbor international airport is minutes away from where I am planning on doing this. It would be in central phoenix.

I am still looking into locations and one idea that was brought up was to actually do it in a hotel that hosts pool parties with bands during the summer. We are still in the planning stages. I can post some links to things here in a bit.
