In retrospect... my guitars could have been "stronger" or "more modern toned" at the end of my song. It was an experimental addition to begin with that I asked Bahamut about, and said I would chop it off if necessary, which you've got to understand is a pretty like... huge thing for a musician to allow.. the chopping of a work.. luckily Wes said it was alright, and I love that part. But the guitar tone near the end itself sounds kind of dated, maybe muddy or soft in a way, if that makes sense... This was both a result of artistic intention, which is obvious if you consider the Mellotron implementation, but also inexperience. Remembering back on it, the guitars recorded super weird. Totally abnormal, and the peaks were weird.. I think the palm muted parts recorded super loud, almost clipping, then the following bit was slightly less loud, and the final part with the held out powerchords was the quietest. I recorded that back when I was not reamping, and instead I had to record with the amp very loud live and hope I got it done well and quickly before I pissed off any neighbors. Anyway a few people liked the song and I'm really appreciative of that. I don't think it stood out against the other mixes which makes me sad.
The older the guitar tone, the better.
EDIT: But I'm just a crazy kid raised on things like LIVE RUST.
