Duck hunt was nice but could have used more creativity in the arrangement instead of recycling an existing song - seemed very PuD'ish in that way.

I find it a strange comment considering the "existing song" really only made up a fraction of the song, but let's fixate on it and forget about the rest of the arrangement?????

A lot of the songs I do have references like that, and it's really no more or less creative because it pulls from other material. Because honestly, that's all that doing these covers is. To think otherwise is far too pretentious.

Your intentions don't mean a damn thing when the context doesn't match. We can't read your mind, especially through written text, all we have is what you say and how you say it. This is a problem in many of your posts and why you can't seem to realize how and why you tend to annoy many people here.

You're talking about a song being uncreative by using unrelated songs, and then using my name. Only in your own mind does that not sound like a slam. If I was to talk about some DoD track and said "it sounds like it's unfocused and full of totally unnecessary wankery" and then said it was virt-ish in that way, that would sound like a slam. Of course, that's a totally fucking insane statement and we all know that's not like virt at all, but that doesn't change the tone of that statement. I would still get lots of "wtf" responses from everybody.

tl;dr: Intentions don't matter in this medium of communication. Assume we're taking everything you write in the most literal manner.

I'm sure there's some of that, and I'll work on making sure my messages are more clear and concise, and I appreciate you bringing these points up for me to consider, but I'm not going to censor myself to prevent hurt feelings. If I say something like "this song is ass," I mean that I don't like the song, my intent has never been "well, this song is pretty round and lumpy, a little hair here and there and a mole." If I call someone an idiot, I mean they're an idiot. So, I'm not entirely sure where the translation is getting lost.

My problem here isn't that Brandon said anything insulting or childish, it's pretty easy to detect intent with something like that. It's that he said one thing (that didn't really make much sense to begin with) and meant another. Backpedaling is much more annoying than saying "yes PuD, I don't like the way you bring unrelated songs into your video game songs," because at least we're getting somewhere.

I actually thought "PuDish" myself with the song STRUCTURE and i think thats what Brandon meant. You always put in covers to non VG stuff. it's kind of your thing. Also switching styles at the drop of a hat. All these are good things, and the only reason i didn't call you out of doing it.. is because I know you didn't have time this month! Bad wording in the context of the sentence, but i do at least GET it. And to be fair, ryan has done it too, just not as much.

I have no words for "could have used more creativity" Personally, I thought this was one of the most creative dod tracks I've heard ever. Taking that tiny little melody.. going wild with it, Mixing in the barks and such? adding in a non VG track? genuis.

And other tracks were good too. I was glad to see mustin in here even though he said he probably would pass. Bonkers, you'll be happy to know one of my friends absolutely loved the metal gear track.

So yeah thats all. you guys can go back to clawing and hissing now.

I will concede that I didn't express myself as well as I could or should have. I've heard a fair number of your remixes and using motifs or an homage from existing songs is something I hear or expect to hear in your remixes, and that's neither good nor bad, it just is. Saying it could have been "more creative" instead of using the existing song could just be interpreted as me saying "It would have been cool if he had made another variation on the source, or even an original part here, instead of the part from the existing song." I did not mean for it to sound so rude or mean but that's how it came across so I'm sorry. And honestly I should be apologizing to Ryan8bit too.

There's so much hate flying around here and a lot from you directed at me and I don't like it. I know I have caused a lot of it with behavior last year, and some things I said this year like the above quote, but I am trying not to say spontaneous assy things. I fully expect to slip here and there like I did with that statement but I hope that you can accept my apology for it and not let it get to you too much. If we could all just be a friendly happy family, that would be great. I don't want you to think of me as a sociopath nor do I intend to come across as one. I think that word may have been a bit strong, honestly. I think your dislike of me could be contributing to how you perceive what I am saying to come across to some extent, and I think everyone could benefit from taking a step back and considering how things really are, like you suggested to BONKERS. Speaking of BONKERS, I really appreciate how he comes to my defense even though I never asked him to and have actually encouraged him not to do it because of the insults people sling at him for it. My opinion dropped of those people who insulted him for trying to be the nice guy.

Less factions, more integration, and maybe people can start to feel and understand each other and their intentions rather than assume the worst.

I don't really know how to respond to this. I feel like the past couple songs I've done, even though they won, didn't involve as much effort as I've put in before. I've felt kind of unmotivated in regards to making music, but I just couldn't pass up the Kunio and jingle themes. Maybe it's just the arrangement aspect that was involved, as that's usually been my strongest suit.

Now I'll go ahead and revert to the previous level, and maybe even put more effort into a song, and see how it does.

It just blew my mind completely. I guess it was the arrangement in a sense, because I was really amazed where you went with it. The initial start didn't sound like your type of guitar that I'm used to..But then when you start just belting out these killer solos it's just like.. damn!
