I'd consider it man-guilting. It's like saying 'women make men go to war by being manipulative, not standing up for themselves and causing jealousy in other guys'.

The gay people I can't stand are the ones who seem to do it essentially for attention. I think it's an insult to the real homosexuals when some weirdo decides there's nothing interesting about himself and he gets no respect from men or women, but he could have respect from some men and respect from a lot of women by becoming a flaming homo. If the only thing special about you is your sexuality, you have serious problems. And the homos who are just regular people that you never even knew were gay until their guy/girlfriend come to pick them up from work one day, those are the real homosexuals, and I give them a lot of credit for being real about it. That interview video did seem stupid and pretentious. That's a prime example of why I hate psychology: because people like that dude say things like "men destroy because they are jealous of women who can create life." That's just as blatantly retarded as when Freud stated women are inherently jealous of men, because women don't have a penis. These kind of blanket psychoanalytic statements are essentially always wrong, with extremely few exceptions ("parents are one of the most important influences on the child" is a good example of a true one). Really, I think that whole interview was just a testament to how good this musician is at gearing his interview responses to please the female interviewer, by saying things like everything should be very personal, we've really grown and matured, etc. He talks like a woman to the woman because she's a woman and he wants good press, like any other musician.

Raub my use of cussing has been thought about quite deeply, I just came to a different conclusion than you. I think it's arrogant to say I just never thought about it enough because if I did then I wouldn't do it. Words are just words man, and cuss words are not hurtful words, maybe with the exception of cunt. So when I say that's fucking awesome instead of that's very awesome, it's just a different emphasis word, and that's not wrong. It hurts no one, and anyone who thinks it hurts them should think deeply about it, imo. If we just couldn't use words because people had no good reason to be offended by them but did anyway, then that's kind of linguistic censorship. I don't abide by that. You know how much I care about freedom of speech, my brotha.

I have years of waiting experience and I can tell you that black people don't tip nearly as much. I can also tell you that 95% of waiters are entirely selfish and egocentric. I always got the most tips from black tables, and would gladly take them from my selfcentered coworkers, who thought it was their god given right to always be tipped - which is completely fucking wrong. First of all tipping is never mandatory, that's the nature of tipping, and so if you care more about the tip than you do about doing your job, then you aren't really a waiter, you are just pretending so you can get the money. And if you just care about the money, then maybe you don't deserve the tip in the first place. Some people just want one nice meal that month when they're broke as hell and need the money they would've tipped you with to put gas in their car. Taking care of those people is part of the job.

The key to getting tips from black tables is, surprise, service. You just have to do everything they want you to do, and usually there's a lot of little things they want, and do it fast as hell. Take their drink, refill it immediately, and walk as fast as you can back to the table. They notice. Get them to laugh. Try to get them a little more food than normal. It also seems like they are kind of looking for a reason not to tip, so you generally only have a good chance at a tip when you do everything right (which is what you should be doing anyway). And if you mess up once, and they don't want to tip you because of that, then that's called being a waiter. They all complain about how hard their job is. You smile and write shit down for a living. Waiting is not fucking hard. Mining coal is hard. Breaking concrete is hard. And waiters make considerably more money than guys who break fucking concrete. But that will never stop them from bitching about it.

Jacki I am constantly amazed by the fact that slut or whore is even a bad word anymore. There used to be a good reason for it, perhaps. Before dna testing, you couldn't know who the father really was. Before contraception, there was always the possibility of untimely pregnancy. Before modern medicine, it was extremely dangerous just to give birth. All of those problems are solved now, but men still get to have all the sex they want, and women have to feel guilty if they want to do the same. I think women deserve to be able to have as much sex as they want, because as a man I think the way we get to not worry about it is fucking awesome.

What's always been most interesting though is that the main reason slut is still a bad word is because of other women. Girls have told me that women who have a lot of sex are competition to the women who don't, so females as a whole put pressure on them to make it easier for the rest of women. How fucked up is that. Men really only seem to hate on sluts because either 1) they know it will hurt them 2) it will get them points with other slut hating women and 3) they might not have considered how good it is to guys for women to have more sex. Plenty of nerds bash slutty women, but you know what? A lot of nerds' best times have probably been that chance encounter when they were the benefactor of a girl who just wanted to have sex. Whenever I slept with a girl who only wanted to sleep with me, I've never thought to myself "Damn, what's with this slut bein all slutacious?" What goes through my mind is "About damn time."

More women should be awesome whores. Men get to live their lives as awesome whores! Maybe I just believe in equality.

I don't think we came to much different conclusions at all. I wasn't trying to be arrogant, I just took issue with your assertion that people swear because they are poor not because they are uneducated. I've thought about my language and for the most part my conclusion is "fuck it", so I didn't mean to imply that if you consider swear words you will simply stop swearing. I disagree that "words are just words" though, because that is sort of disingenuous to the entire concept of language. We may as well just grunt and point if that's the case. But instead we have many wonderful languages both verbal and written that have very rich evolutions with vocabularies and deep meanings. I don't think I ever said we can't/shouldn't be able to use certain words and if I did I take that back. I wholeheartedly agree that it is your right to yell "bike fag!" at me while cruising down the street. That doesn't mean I can't think it's immature of you to do so.

In general it's not the word itself that is harmful, it's the intent behind it. If a friend yelled "bike fag" at me I wouldn't offended because they said "fag" and I'm a flag-waving defender of LGBT rights (although it does make me cringe), I'd be offended because a friend intended to belittle me. That's not even a hypothetical situation, that's actually a situation I have been in and it was pretty weird.

how is it man-hating? women live with and experience sexual assault on a daily basis. In 2006 over 200,000 women in the US reported being sexually assaulted or raped. that's 600 a day. That's only what was reported that year.

To call that man-hating is to discredit every woman, man, and child that has been sexually victimized. And it would be ignorant to not say that the majority of these attacks are carried out by men. Everyone deserves the right to protect themselves and be secure in their surroundings. As someone who has been sexually assaulted before, every man is a potential rapist until he proves to me he's not, whether i see him on the street or meet him through a friend. I completely agree that it's totally fucked up that women have to go through this and be on the look out for potential attackers when we go outside but thems the sad breaks of a world we live in yo. It's called rape culture.
