This was a pretty good month. I mean, when an amazing song like pud and snaps gets third, you know it's awesome. My personal favorite was Centaur Man... hell yeah. But the top five were all pretty righteous.

Yeah well nobody likes vocals, if it weren't for my INCREDIBLE AND WELL-MADE SUPERIOR 2 METAL FOUNDRY DRUM PRESETS I MADE MYSELF, my song definitely wouldn't have done as well.

EDIT: Also if I can point out, the music in Braid wasn't made for the game, it is licensed music

Story behind our entry:

Juja was going to do a song together with that careless accordion guy, but it fell through. So, with about six hours left, Juja sent me a message, and I said, "Hey, I programmed some drums and played some bass for a song about a month ago, but I never got around to finishing it. You could play some guitars for it, and I'll work on some other stuff!"

And we did :-D

It wasn't quite two minutes long, since I didn't intend for it to be a DoD entry originally--I was just making it for fun, because my friend liked that song, and he likes straight covers of stuff. So for DoD, I made up an intro and outro. They were both bad, but the intro fit a lot worse, so come mixing time (read: 45 minutes before the deadline) I had to pick one or the other, and I chose the outro. (Unfortunately, the outro doesn't work as a book-end without the intro, so it feels a little out of place.)

Working quickly is great! The pressure means you make decisions early and stick to them, and don't sit around with choice paralysis or throw on a bunch of stuff the track doesn't need.

It also sucks: Juja had no time to learn to play the guitar part, or to decide what sort of tone worked for the song. And I didn't have enough time to really work on the synth programming, the intro/outro, or mixing. (Or, say, properly arranging it for DoD.)

But we had a lot of fun, so I'm pretty happy with how we placed! :-D

I have no idea who Abreu Project is, but you're awesome.

Garpocalypse, I think you're Car-pocalypse. But then, to me, everyone is a vehicle.

Well, seeing as everyone's thus far agreed on the completely ass-backwards delusion that making music will make me more credible as a listener, I guess I'd better start working on my entry early this month.
