Dunes formed in 2009 after Mark, Stephanie, and Kate realized their desire to create weird pop music. They were inspired by underground and above-ground pop music from the 60’s through the 90’s.
After releasing a 7” single on Teenage Teardrops, Dunes released a debut full-length album “Noctiluca” in March of 2012 on PPM. The album was also released in video form, 11 videos created for the 11 songs on Noctiluca. This video album premiered in Chinatown 2 weeks after the release, and is available to view as a playlist on their youtube channel.
