This next month is Blizzard Month! Any song from a game released by Blizzard is fair game.
Songs will be due on November 26 at 9 PM Eastern US time. This date/time may change, but I'm not sure if it will or not yet.
Uploading the re-tagged songs right now, will post the banner and update the rest of the site soon.

So FoxxDragon is not convinced that Blizz games (like Starcraft) will have music people are interested in covering. It's up to you all to prove him wrong!
Also, here's an song idea:

Ughhhhh, why do I have to be so busy this month? I'm a huge Blizzard fanboy, so I would totally enter, but I don't think I'm gonna have enough time. Anyway, great to be back and recording METAL again for the first time in so many years. Snapple did all the sequencing/mixing/arranging, I did all the guitars up to 3:13, then it's all Snapple after that (except for the Tragic Prince solo at the very end). Our mix turned out pretty poor because we procrastinated like a motherfucker, for instance my rhythm guitars and clean guitars got pretty buried, but keep your eyes peeled for an updated mix soon.

Anyways I haven't practiced that arrangement from Sonic 2 for awhile... and I recorded it a few hours before the deadline. That's why it was kinda all over the place in the second half... I was just improvising near the end, pretty much. But I think I'll still upload my performance to youtube and share it with everyone.
The top two tracks were awesome. They were my top two favorites for sure. But I will say that Shnabubula's arrangement blew me away. Props to you wherever you are.

But yeah like I said I liked all the tracks and couldn't have hoped to place better! I have a long way to go when it comes to even basic song structures and stuff and even though I don't neccessarily agree with aaall the feedback I got there's a lot of truth in there and I obviously know what didn't turn out exactly as planned. All in all good first experience, y'all awesome, I think I dare return for more!
Here's my poser video! Might show some references I was trying to make with my uh, super deep lyrics.

Kadmium's...I totally thought it was gonna end up having been someone completely different, considering how Kadmium-esque it sounded. However, I was super-right somehow!
Torzelan! Song was pretty sweet, but seriously the output of your harsh vocals seems off. It sounds like when people's vocal output is comparatively low, weak and one constant, steady noise instead of the strong, loud, relentlessly morphing harshness in any growler/screamer you'll hear anywhere. I'd like to know what's up with that. (As a hilariously elitist harsh-vocalist, myself

"You know BornInCrimson, guys, right? The guy who hosts, like, Dwelling of Duels? I was in there with him, and Master Hatchet, that guy kicks ass. He has like these metal arrangements. But anyways. I'm trying to say...uh...I was there with these guys, and uh..." ~ Ashane, Magfest 4

Thanks! On one hand you're kind of right, I'm still pretty limited in how much noise I can actually do in the middle of the night in my apartment as I mentioned last Punchfest. Not a terrible lot I can do about it, sucks. (As a side note the entire vocal track was a single take plus the occasional stereo layering.)Torzelan! On the other hand, aside from in the future hoping to arrange better in general and switch the vocals up more (this was like, only verses and all the same), I'm not unhappy with how it turned out at all. You kind of make it sound like every growler ever is screaming as loud as they can (maybe I'm misinterpreting but you keep mentioning how low my output is as if it's objectively "wrong"), if that's the case I don't even know what to say to that aside from you and I probably not listening to the same stuff then.
This and this is my favorite growl vocalist by a long shot; while faaar better than my vocals (yeah stronger) and better mixing, that's more what I'm going for than I dunno, something like this or this or this or this or this or this or this... ...or this which seems to have like three or four of my least favorite types of growls all in one track/band. All I'm saying is while no, I'm not entirely where I want to be yet, it seems weird to even question growl vocals with there being such a wide variety of styles (kind of the opposite of what I think you implied?).
That sounded way more defensive than I meant it to but I hope I answered the question. TL;DR you're a bit right but I don't know if we ultimately agree on what is expected from growls
By the way come on, such a "harsh-vocals" expert can't seriously have hesitated for a moment on Kadmium

[02:19:45] [Torzelan] unmistakeable
[02:21:50] [Torzelan] nice K.
(I'd ask what you think of Kadmium's vocals since it sounds to me like he's also not being very loud at all unprocessed, but different with more variation, more layering, different (more?) compression, better mixing in general etc. but not sure this is the place for it. Maybe I don't even know what you mean by "output" to begin with.)

I know two of the three techniques and can identify them each in all contexts. As I mentioned, hilariously elitist.
EDIT: Oh yeah, I was gonna mention why I don't rip on Kadmium for it. It's because I already rip on everyone else enough for it and Kadmium is just a veteran here by who I am stupid-intimidated.

Great month and great theme for next month! I already have a game in mind, so it's time to immerse myself in the soundtrack after a good night's nap.
