Post your favorite wireless network names!

20 May 2013 - 10:39 PM

This is simple, but probably works best for people in apartments/condos/etc. Fire up your smart phone or wireless network card, and look at the names of your neighbors' networks. Post the best/silliest/dumbest ones here. I'll start:

Honeybadger - for it's lack of originality

EsotericGaming - for the intrigue. what kind of games are they playing?! I wanna know!

Tatooine - NERDS!!!

A new Norrin Rad soundtrack for a new IOS game!

22 April 2013 - 09:59 PM

Hey guys, Norrin just finished work on a soundtrack for an 8-bit IOS game called "Slayin'". He's made the soundtrack available for download on bandcamp here:

Find the game in the Apple App store, it's by FPG Entertainment and has a dude with a sword on the front. I actually kind of recommend checking out the game first if you have an i-whatever, because there's a special feeling when you're playing a brand new game with brand new Norrin Radd music. It's not a mindblowing game by any stretch (it is an IOS game, after all), but it only costs 99 cents, and they actually did quite a good job of nailing the 8-bit game vibe. It doesn't hurt having chiptunes by NORRIN FUCKING RADD, though, does it?!

What's your favorite generic product rip-off name?

If only the original name of these products could have been as awesome.

Holding a button to run in videogames vs having "always run" t

24 November 2012 - 09:13 PM

Like ya know, in my day we had to hold a button down if we wanted to run. So that required some serious finger dexterity if you wanted to run AND jump. It was kind of tough, but ultimately rewarding.

Other games allow you to have running be the default state of movement, which kind of makes sense, because why would you want to walk in a videogame? Running is fast, innit?

Nowadays these kids can just run by pressing harder on their analog sticks or buttons, which does require a bit of precision, but maybe not as much skill as holding down run and THEN hitting a separate jump button.

Have we done the right thing? Should it be EASY to run in a game? I don't know. I just don't know.
