I feel there was a lot of really good music between 1992-2003 , that time frame for me sticks out, at least with a lot of the good more underground stuff, it all seemed to boom in that time frame (for me anyway). I am irritated by a lot of the nu-folk stuff, and that like.. arcade fire reverb drowned 20 people singing stuff, I just can't handle it. I like unique and imperfect voices. I like identifying bands by the singer's own TRUE voice. So much of the singing now sounds so similar because they all have this 'thing' they're going for that apparently sells records.

I mean.. if you have singers like Billy Corgan, Chris Cornell, Stephen Malkmus, Jeremy Enigk, Wayne Coyne, Kim Deal, Miho Hatori, Travis Morrison, Ian Mackaye, etc.. You know.. their voices are identifiable. I can't really think of any bands in the past 3 years where I thought to myself "that singer has an interesting voice / neat vocal style that really sticks out" , I think music is dying only because there aren't a lot of people just doing whatever, which was pretty much the theme of the 90's "hey, let's try this". I feel like people aren't going out on a limb anymore.

I just think of the 90's as 91 to 96 (good grunge) and then 97 to early 2000's (mostly bad post grunge)

To me, nothing from 80 anything belongs anywhere near the 90's.

Bleach was released in 1989. Just sayin'

Music theory kind of ruined music for me to a point. While it is cool to understand what you are hearing and what drives the kinds of sounds that you personally like, once you know what is going on, it kind of demystifies the magic.

Had fun dudes/dudette.

Thanks for respecting my house everyone! I don't think anything was broken, which kind of amazes me after and extended 48 hour party.
