Wanna try making some new ones here? :)

Obscure NES and SNES games you like

20 October 2012 - 02:43 PM

I'm going through some ROMS and I'm skipping a lot simply because I just see a bunch of Japanese words with no words that stick out to me. I do see some, but a lot I try are basically unplayable (no translation) or turn out to be dating sims. Haha.

Anything you guys like that people may not generally know about? Any must play stuff? Any 'must be seen to be believed' stuff? :P You can even list Mario hacks if you want! Heh heh.

I am going to play some stuff for sure, like the following SNES games...

- Bahamut Lagoon
- Front Mission: Gun Hazard
- Ganpuru (Gunman's Proof)
- LiveALive
- Syvalion (Klat, you gotta check this one out!)
- Uchuu Race - Astro Go! Go!

Check out Val d'Isere Championship. (snowboarding) It's pretty funny, and very fast!

Free electronics

28 May 2012 - 10:13 PM

Does your town have those big, shallow plastic black/dark gray boxes around the neighborhood, usually in parking lots, for the purpose of recycling electronics? Well...we do here, which will become immediately obvious. :P

I've decided to start looking in the one at the mall more often, especially as I'm there 5 days a week anyway. If something doesn't work, I can just chuck it back in the bin the next day. :) So far, I've successfully procured...

- Sony VCR (works perfectly, but no remote. Only need it to play stuff, so that's fine)
- Onn DVD player (region free and does PAL)
- Two CD wallets, seemingly unused
- A bunch of Duracell batteries that work just fine

Saw a Yamaha CD player yesterday, but didn't bother with it. Grabbed a Sony blu-ray player today, but it just says 'no disc' onscreen. Back it goes!
