Topics I've Started

A few good remixes (subjective...)

19 January 2013 - 12:51 AM

Hey there Shizzies... I've remixed a few video game tunes and thought I'd share them here.

First one is 'Martial Law' from Final Fantasy VIII which you can listen to here: https://soundcloud.c...word-timber-wip this isn't the final version I've made of this tune, but it's VERY near final.  I've enabled the download on this one anyway.  The tune is kind of like a Progressive House tune that evolves into some sort of dubstep hybrid in the second verse.

Second I have a remix of 'Bombing Mission' from Final Fantasy VII.  This one I've had sitting on my hard drive for quite awhile and just never finished it.  It's not what I'd consider a complete work, but I did at least finish arranging and such.  I wouldn't call it a complete work, but it's the closest I'm ever going to get to finishing this tunes.  You can find that one here: https://soundcloud.c...rd-bombing-them

Lastly is another progressive house and dubstep hybrid.  This one is the main theme from Halo.  It's not too advanced really.  I could have done a lot more with it.... Again this one was sitting on my hard drive and I thought "It's not bad" so I arranged it a bit and put it up for download.   Here's the link: https://soundcloud.c...oken-sword-halo

Hope you guys enjoy. :)

Slightly Stoopid Remix

17 October 2012 - 10:12 PM

Shizzies! I come to you once again to promote my music, and ask for help from you guys. I've asked a few of you personally to help me out, and of course you obliged!

Now I come to the forums to share with you my remix of Slightly Stoopid's new single "Top of the World". The remix is for a contest, and the grand prize is 1000 dollars plus being featured as an official remix for Slightly Stoopid on iTunes, beatport, juno... etc. The grand prize winner will be determined from a judges panel, and all submissions have an equal chance of winning.

There are also 5 honorable mention prizes which will only be given to people who are in the top 10 "most voted for" remixes. These five are also determined by a judges panel, but obviously the chances of winning are much higher. I've already placed 4th place out of 129 submissions in this competition, but of course I would like to make it to first if possible... I also have a feeling like placing higher in the voting phase might persuade the judges at least a little bit in picking the grand prize. I might be off the mark on this one, but either way, I ask The Shizz members to help me out by voting for my mix.

Here is the link.

You'll have to sign up with facebook to vote... some of you may say "UGH, my FB is already so overcrowded with garbage apps." Never fret! You can skip the request for permission and still vote for my remix! Yay! How cool is that for me?!

I should also add that this is a little bit different than my usual thing. Some of you who have been paying attention to how my music style has changed might remember I was making a more dancey... house or techno (albeit, not good) style of music when I first started posting my tunes on here. In the past couple of years I've been getting more and more into dubstep, and similar dissonant styles of dance music. This song has the danciness of my old tunes, with the grimier edge of my newer stuff.

Skrillex & Damian Marley remix competition

19 September 2012 - 12:52 AM

Greetings Shizzies!

I have for you a link to my remix for Beatport's latest remix competition: to remix Make it Bun Dem by Skrillex and Damian Marley.  I come here hoping to get some support from Shizzies by possibly downloading, favoriting and/or commenting on my soundcloud page for the song, and sharing it on facebook! =] So you can listen to that here: http://soundcloud.co...llex-remix-comp

AND if you have a Beatport account, it would be really cool if you voted for my remix too!  So the link to vote for my song is here: http://play.beatport...8ed74060e61e0bd

And just to give you a bit of a description of what you're listening to.  The song opens up with some distorted bass and Damian's lyrics before building up into a electro style drop, there's a break in the middle of the first drop which consists of a half-electro, half-dubstep beat with a glitchy/trap style vocal build into a secondary mini dubstep drop.  The drop breaks into another vocal build with a nice thick progressive style pad and then there's a more intense dubstep drop with a heavier bass and a heavier progressive pad, with solos of the main instruments.

Hope you guys like this!

A little something for the dubhedz here

I know there aren't too many dubstep fans here, but there ARE a few lurking around. ;]

I just finished producing a huge tune, and thought some people here might like it.... so here it is!
