So I've been making another serious attempt at losing weight. Gymming is hard because of logistics. But I've been doing Weight Watchers, and I'm down 30 pounds since the beginning of the year. The main thing I struggle with is finding something to monch that is satisfying but not super bad for ya, and quick/easy meals that don't get boring after a week. And beer. :/ But I found a bunch of staples that I like, and it's working.

 

I do want to work in gym though, because .. well, age and atrophy are not my friends, and it causes problems when I try to do something like ... anything other than sitting around the office or the house. :/

oh man i got an email today with an overview of the meet & all the rules. now i am extremely nervous.

 

What goes into the whole thing and what are the rules? I'm curious.

 

I know you'll do fine. First time doing shit is always nerve-wracking.

the rules i'm worried about are things like waiting for commands from judges (waiting to start the squat until they tell you, leaving the bar on your chest until they tell you to push for bench, holding the bar at the top of the dead until you're told to put it down) and some specific technique things. since i've never done a meet or been coached on commands, its goin to be interesting.

in other news, i ugly-squattes more than double my bodyweight today (and this was after doing my heavy work sets & adding an extra four-plate rep). woo wee!

I might not be right about what's actually causing this, but since I've losing a lot of weight, I'm having trouble sitting for long periods of time. Specifically, I feel like I hit a nerve in my left leg that goes all the way from about my ankles to my left ass cheek. It's almost like a nerve is getting tweaked.

 

Getting up and moving around helps, but having a shitty office chair at work doesn't help but neither do the seats in my car, which by all accounts, since it's a luxury car, has extremely comfortable seats MADE for long trips. It's pretty annoying. I'm wondering if having NO definition or barely any muscle mass in my ass is causing this since I literally have less fat in  it. I highly doubt it, but I didn't experience 80 lbs ago.

are you stretching at all? you might want to try some priformis stretching (you can even do it at your desk!).

are you stretching at all? you might want to try some priformis stretching (you can even do it at your desk!).

 

I was when I was doing better about exercising, but the last month or so I haven't been doing it at all. I will try these.

 

 

Sciatica pain, perhaps?

I had to look this up, but this seems about what I'm experiencing, though not "debilitating" like how I have seen it described.

Sometimes I get nerve pain throughout my whole arm if I rest my elbow on my chair weird. I feel like those types of pains can be the result of a whole range of things from "I sat weird" to "I'm having a heart attack".

hooray today i lifted the most amount of weight i've ever lifted (495 lbs). hopin i can add a bit more to that before / during the meet on the 20th.

This completely.  When you live with anxiety, your brain can think all of these things as well as stroke.

In my daily life I always run up stairs 2 at a time. It actually feels uncomfortable and more tiring for me to take them 1 at a time.


I thought it was just me!

On Sunday I ran 11.3 miles averaging 9:04 each. I feel good about that! My legs were feeling very heavy toward the end. Five weeks to go until the half-marathon.

i'm just over a week out from my meet. not sure how confident i'm feeling about putting up PRs on any of my lifts, but i'll feel things out between now & mid next week.

Just had my first session back in the gym after pretty much a year of no exercise. Now I have some motivation to not be extremely unhealthy when we’re on tour. Did some squats, light weight but I’m still afraid that I won’t be able to walk tomorrow.
