Oh shit, I didn't realize those were a thing and NoiseES supported them! Thanks for the heads up!RSN's?
Now if I could only find a collection like the NSFe ones here for RSNs...and their Genesis equivalents.
RSN collection for you:

Just got the snesmusic.org torrent and renamed the files with the handy renset tool from the site. Then organized them into alphabetical folders.
Can't help you with the Genesis collection tho

Kain, only you can mention your mother's death and your new awesome MMX NES rom hack in one post... so condolences
and high five

From what I have heard the SPC format is not designed for data ripping as much of the NES... but I'm not really sure, since I never fussed with SPC ripping.
I'm not sure how that thing handles bankswitching and instrument sequence altogether, but I also heard that the music routine and sfx routine are somehow hardware related, and that's why there is no SFX ripped SPCs to this day.
But then again... why don't you ask in another thread, or ask Renevant directly on snesmusic.org forums?

And... there is barely any activity going on there, (just like this forum thread
) when I was expecting much more to be honest.
I can admit I haven't contributed much, apart from a list of NSFs needing rerips. I have had a lot of issues popping up that I need to handle, so unfortunately I need to bow out of the discussion, and of NSFe tagging, for the time being. You, Karmic, and NewRisingSun appear to be keeping the momentum up, so I will cheer from the sidelines.

I wonder if anybody has a hex code set for japanese characters, as I for request started renaming my existing NSFs into japanese.
The notes TXT tells you how can anybody open up these files under Windows 7.
I wanted to to rename the headers as well, so that the few players that can display UTF8, would display properly their japanese info.

Another question for you all: is there a program you use to listen to these files on iPhone that is compliant with iOS 12? I had NoiseES and it played so much but I can only use that with my super old iPhone and it is SO SLOW. Thanks in advance.

Have you tried this?

I tried it last night and it definitely works! I don’t prefer it to NoiseES (NoiseES has a nice sprite screen when playing music, would automatically play all songs in a collection, did a better job of organizing music) but this works really well and is actually compatible with current iOS, so it wins by default!
Thanks!

A big note: Rally Bike has been reripped finally.
The song sequences were stored in multiple rombanks.

And finally I was able to release my Sim City NSF rip that I did long ago.
Strangely it has quite a lackluster soundtrack for a first party Nintendo game.
