word.

there will definitely be some de la soul played at FRESH on 8/08. yeah, i know, i'm shamelessly promoting, but it's a shizz event.

also, me, mig, and montoya are DJ'ing that night. if anybody has requests or tracks they want to hear (i'm using this thread to start putting a playlist together) say the word. or even bring in your old shit and we'll play it. i have to find a tape player. i have so much good shit on cassette.

Emperors of Japan
Myspace

My thesis is called the "Black-Emperor-Says Theory" and holds that any any Phoenix-area indie rock festival there is a 100 percent probability that Emperors of Japan, Black Carl, and/or What Laura Says will be on the bill.

I went through a slight rap phase .... listened Wu-Tang and others, but I realized I really didn't listen much to the words. I was more into the production and little melody hooks. RZA does some good work. Otherwise it didn't hold my interest much. To each his own I guess.

i mostly listen for the same reasons. so wu-tang of course. method man is my favorite. i'll listen to anything danger mouse produces. i could never get into jay z until the grey album. then i heard jay z for the first time. DOOM also tops my list, glad to see him getting some mention. his newest album is pretty good.

and i'm a white guy, so i loves me some beastie boys.

Been listening to The Roots & Beastie Boys. Was never really into hip hop but I've been dabbling in it lately.

This album is fucking awesome. "Fire Marshall Bill" is highly recommended, but check out the beat of http://mishkanyc.ban...matters-regrets for some real VG shit.
