Shizzfest was fucking amazing. Thank YOU guys for making my set one of the more memorable moments in my life thus far, without all of the crazy ass crowd energy to feed off of I most likely would've just been some awkward fat dude holding a Game Boy. I'm sorry I had to leave after my set and thus missed the other bands but after having been awake for 24 hours at that point I pretty much just wanted to drink beer and chill out and the hotel.

Seriously, I can't thank you people enough. To avoid disappointment I tried to keep my expectations low and I totally had my mind blown. Can't wait to get back out there and play some more music in the not too distant future.

;)

Wizwars, it made me really happy to see so many people having a good time during your set. Seriously, dude. Your chips sound great! Jacki O., thank you again for letting us stay at your place. I'm gonna miss your pets. And why are you Arizonians all so goddamn kind and hospitable, anyways? Kudos to all of you who helped out in any way to put together Shizzfest. I had a lot of fun!

wizzzzzzzzzwars i told you i was going to dance from the game buy flash screen until it was over. and i totally did and had a fucking BLAST!. i had sooooo much fun durring PPE, WZWRZ, and Peach Kake. i usually am the guy who stands in the back of shows and just watched but i had so much fun shaking my bootie! only qualm was that i didnt find anything to have a qualm about. i wish we had shows like this in SD but people are too pretentious to enjoy them selfs as much as zonies do. I <3 SHIZZ IRL!

it was great meeting all of you guys.

Seriously, this was just so great meeting some of the WCS. Seeing some new bands perform, and seeing some bands come out of hiding.

I will try and post a few pics later this evening.

Definitely cool meeting Metalbishop, Wizwars, Toadette, Mshell, and Pingosimon. I didn't really meet zyko or sparky but I am a shy dude (even though nobody believes it).

I had fun, but I always have fun.
Bands: I wanted to catch Malakai and AJJ but they started so damn early and I barely missed them.
I saw:
Quarter Inch Crown, who I need to see in a real venue, because they were good outside on a rickety stage, I am sure they are great on a real sound stage.
Former Friends Of Young Americans: Totally stoked to be playing with these dudes on Nov 7th and not yesterday at the Modified.
After Any Accident: That shit rocked, they should have had a 2 hour set and just played that half hour of material over and over.
Wizwars: I saw one song and ran into the Bikini to get people to come watch a dude play a friggin gameboy and was countered with a "drink a friggen beer"...sorry, shit was cool though.
Cagematch: Always epic, these dudes could probally play in a black hole and it would sound ear punishing heavy.
Rumspringer: My gear never sounded so good. Wait yes it did, last time you played on it, sober.
Instructions: Totally dug it, cought the last couple songs and was a little blown away as I expected something along the lines of Said Gun level of barely knowing the songs and keeping it together, you know, becasue your a new band and all, but it was tight and good.

I didn't really meet anyone IRL, except Tony in passing and Jacki for like 10 seconds (and people you don't seperate laundry are wasting there time and water)

well, well, well. we had a fun little party on saturday, no?

based on the comments i've heard and read it seems like everyone was pretty happy with how things turned out. between the bands, volunteers, and attendees, we had hundreds of people out at trunk space, sweets & beats, and bikini (yeah, they weren't really officially part of the festival, but they were undeniably part of the night). i wanted to recognize the hard work of all the volunteers - especially guys like tenderlad who showed up early and got stuck doing manual labor to help get the stage ready - everyone who helped work the door or run sound, or just assist the bands in general - you all made this run smoothly.

and to the bands: i was not only impressed by the quality of the performances, but literally everyone acted like a professional. that might not sound like a big deal, but it really is. we had 20 bands that all needed to load in/out and play their sets in about a relatively short period. if one person acts like a dickhead, it can really disrupt the flow of the entire evening. people could have been late, they could have caused drama, they could have thrown a fit because parking was a challenge, they could have ignored our 30 minute set limit, but they didn't. 20 bands on 3 stages could have been a train wreck, but everyone was on the same page and i think it made the experience that much better.

also, WIZWARS! what the fuck?! that set was amazing.

peachcake and the rainbow colored parachute was probably the highlight of my night.

malakai and cagematch were both brutal. i mean that in the best way possible.

i loved that AJJ elected to play without mics or amps. very intimate, and a nice way to start the evening.

i'm glad to say that i got to see at least part of everyone's set. and i know i'm forgetting some things, so my apologies in advance. but thanks again to everyone who came out, participated, and made this evening a success.

My thesis is called the "Black-Emperor-Says Theory" and holds that any any Phoenix-area indie rock festival there is a 100 percent probability that Emperors of Japan, Black Carl, and/or What Laura Says will be on the bill.

I had an awesome time going between the three stages and catching what bands I was able to. Big thanks go out to all who organized this event and also the bands that came out to do their thing. Good to see those who I only really see at shows like: ChadK, JHealy, Chalupacabra, MikeyWretch (!!!), Rial, Coward Crutch, HunterGather, David from Cagematch, Mig50, Donald, and any others I ran across. Very nice to finally meet the lovely and esteemed, Jacki O as well as the veritable sure shot, Ian J. Wajand and also the rest of Rumspringer.

Every band I saw was great. Unfortunately, I didn't think to bring my flash and thus didn't get as many good photos as I'd like to have gotten but it there were plenty of photographers there so I'm sure there won't be any lack of images.

Super event!

PostScript: Thanks for the Rumspringer 10", Mikey.

Tony, thank you so much for letting cagematch be a part of this again. We had a blast. Thanks to the folks in this thread with kind things to say about us and anyone lurking who may have been there. The room felt so fucking awesome when we were playing, Matt from Rumspringer's elephant dance thing was fantastic.

I wish I could have seen instructions but we were setting up when they were playing. What I heard from outside sounded awesome.

Said Gun and Rumspringer...i love you guys so much.
