SAVE OUR SCENE!
A local music scene summit to ensure the viability and growth of the Valley’s local music scene
Much has been written lately about the dying local music scene. People point to the impending closing of Long Wongs as the death nail of the live music scene in the valley. After living in the Valley for 17 years I couldn’t say that was further from the truth, there has never been a more talented and diverse collection of artists as there is now. Please join us for an evening in which we gather to discuss the local music scene, with fellow musicians and those involved with that local music industry.
WHO
Local Musicians, Club booking agents/managers, and anyone with an interest in the local music scene.
WHAT
A networking meeting for all local music scene people to gather and share ideas on how to preserve and grow interest in local music
Where
Ziggy’s Sports Grill
414 South Mill Ave
Located at the corner of Fourth and Mill Avenue in the heart of downtown Tempe. Second level.
WHY
Local Musicians-This is an opportunity for local musicians to get together and share ideas, music, and opportunities with one another in order to build the local music scene. A thriving music scene means increased visibility and more opportunities for financial stability. Get a chance to meet with booking agents of some of the clubs at a time when it is convenient for all parties. This means bring demo cds, press kits, and calendars. At the very least you can hangout with a few friends and have a few cheap beers!
Booking agents-This is an opportunity for you to meet with local musicians at a convenient time, not hassled by phone calls and other duties that take us away from the fun of working with local talent. More importantly, it is a chance to show your support for the local music scene, a key component to your business, and by participating you can find ways to drive more business to your establishments.
WHEN
Tuesday December 16th starting at 6.30 and lasting until 7.30

-trunkspaceAll the time when I tell people what I do they say, "Oh I don't understand art, I can't even draw." (or worse, "I only like art I can understand.") Well, ya know what, I don't know how to make a car, but I sure appreciate being able to drive one.
