GB's somewhat Homemade Salsa
4 cans stewed tomatoes (I get the Mexican flavor ones from fry's)
1 can diced fire roasted tomatoes
1 bunch green onions (chopped)
cilantro (1 bunch) (chopped)
1 or 2 serrano peppers (diced up)
1 can El Pato sauce (yellow can)
1 can green chiles
2 tsp lime juice (or just a couple limes hand squeezed)
add: oregano, cummin, garlic salt, salt (add to your liking)
I usually double the recipe
I don't use a blender.
Usually tastes best after having it sit in the fridge over night.
mmm... damn, now I want Salsa!

Not sure why the jealousy occurred, maybe just the envisioning of my man meat being the pleasure pole for some other lucky lady (yea, I said it, you can quote me on that lol)

Fresh tomatoes - peeled, cored, and seeded... maybe 5 or 6, coarsely chopped?
1 jalapeno - finely chopped, remove seeds
small white onion, chopped
2? cloves garlic, chopped
splash of vinegar
salt
other misc from spice drawer - usually oregano, maybe cumin
seems like I might be forgetting something... but that's the basic ingredients
All goes in the food processor for a short bit.

splash of vinegar
vinegar and not lime juice? you're a maniac!
but it gives me an idea: i made this stuff called "shrub", which is basically a fruit infused vinegar (boil some white wine vinegar and a bunch of blackberries, then discard the blackberries) that is used as the acidic component in a cocktail in place of lime juice. you could probably use it in salsa if you wanted to add a fruity spin on the acidic side without putting in whole pieces of fruit. no idea how that would work.
oh, and i have sour ornamental oranges that i use from time to time for acidity instead of limes.
in related news, does anyone want a shitload of sour ornamental oranges?
