Although if RV goes with you, there'll be less clif bars and spandex, and more Tecate and flannel.

I welcome both of those things at all times!

maybe I'll go and be the guy in the truck that follows behind and has tools and a bullhorn and
burritos and a first aid kit and shit.

I drive next to you slobbering McDonalds all over the place and splash water on your heads.

I think you're supposed to call me Tank or something

Im really into this!

If I can get enough people to join in on this little trip Ill have a party in coolidge and we can all get wasted once we get there! WORD! lets do it!

All the Christians in my neighborhood are saying this day is the end of the world.

End of the world desert party campout?

this sounds like an adventure.

If I find a bike w/ gears (which I am looking for so I can start to bike to work) I'd be so into joining you.

Its flat all the way there and I dont use gears. I think you will be fine.

I think the more folks to join in the better due to maybe there will be people that haul ass and some that ride a bit slower. Could be fun as hell and I can arrange a pool party once we get to Coolidge.

This past summer I was riding 20 miles per day on hilly southern PA terrain so I'm assuming this shouldn't be too bad.

was it 110 degrees there? ;)

No but the air is so thick there you have to chew it.
Its far worse to bike in really hummid places than here.

haha yeah exactly. riding up 10-18% grade hills in 95 degree heat and 85% humidity. the lungs struggle for breath and sweat pours out like water.

Its official for those who want to partake in this with me. We will have a Cook out pool party waiting in Coolidge. The pool provided is at a friends house who just had it re-done and is ready to use that monkey!

You will ahve to hook up your own way home unless you plan on riding back and or there may be some room in a couple of vehicles that I know will head down for the pool party. My truck can carry back a few people and bikes.

I just got a new (to me) bike yesterday that rides so good I actually think I could accomplish this if
I trained a little beforehand.

However, it's a weekend I have my son over and that takes precedence to me.

Any chance of doing something maybe a little smaller the weekend before?

You know, to amp up?

I will not be riding back. After the 50 miles or so Im sure my legs could use a break as this will be the longest I have ever gone. I have done 20 and will do 30 before this but yeah I think it would be smart to get a ride home unless you are biking at least 20 miles or more one way on a regular basis. Just my thoughts.

I drove the route this weekend and for the most part there is smooth shoulder all the way with some areas with out a shoulder but not too bad.
