Big Dog was like a second-rate mashup of Big Johnson and Duck Head then

I always think of this style as "Tex-Mex." It's not really accurate; I think it's more like Arizona than Texas, when it starts to veer into that territory of Kokopelli and turquoise pastels... But it looks like most of the examples here are mixing that with the gradient-grid-geometry 1987 Sanitized-Wave motif. So the end result is like, 1992 Southwestern Mellow-Chaos?

This stuff brings back SO many awful memories...

There's a big difference between a show being good and a shoe being enjoyable.

Use 800 gigabytes of samples, I give approximately 0 gigafucks.

It's because pooping is the shared human experience. It's a universal language, like Jazz.

Xoc, welcome back!

Howdy!

And HOLY WAOW I remember that Transformers "shit" shit! I saw that in the Sunrise Mall Theater -- and I must've been 9 or 10, so even Optimus Prime saying, I think, "Open, damn it, open!" was a BIG DEAL.

Weener and I live near The Autry Museum, which yes was started by Gene Autry the singing cowboy, but they actually do some cool shows.

A couple months ago we went and saw a retrospective of Harry Fonseca's work.

He was a pop artist, of mixed native american descent, and gay.

His work has a unique 80s-90s vibe that I think fits oddly into this discussion . . .
