Hey Shizzies – Ryan from Chromelodeon here (can we finally retire that?). My wife and I just launched another business and we need your help supporting women in STEM with our Kickstarter!

Emily and I have been working behind the scenes on another business for the last two years and the moment has arrived! JUNO JONES is our new shoe company, specifically offering fashionable safety footwear for women. This is a special niche market we care deeply about, and Emily herself was affected by the lack of products supporting women in STEM and nontraditional and hazardous fields, so she strove to make her own. I have done my best to keep up with her endless enthusiasm and dedication, helping with everything short of modeling them myself (obligatory “Kinky Boots” reference). Fun fact: Emily herself is the model in the Kickstarter video close-ups, with me dropping bricks and pipes on her! We’ve got a measure of trust in our relationship to say the least.

JUNO JONES is now LIVE on Kickstarter and we are asking you all for help asap! If this isn’t specific to you or your partner's needs, please share it with family, friends, and co-workers who would benefit from the support. There are a lot of women out there being exposed to risk due to limited or nonexistent safety footwear choices- a typical problem for women in many areas, unfortunately. According to an overwhelming amount of feedback and support, this applies to a wide array of fields… construction, science, engineering, manufacturing, technology, warehousing, professional kitchens, and more.

On a personal note, as a father of a young girl, I take pride in doing whatever I can to help balance gender issues for her future. This will be a small step for progress. Thanks in advance to all for your attention, and for keeping it weird all these years.

How well do you think they would fit a man's foot?

Very generally speaking (since feet are more varied and unique than hands, etc), Women's sizes are 2 numbers up from Men's. So at our current highest size, that would be a potential choice for Men's 8 (which incidentally is around my size). As we grow we'll be expanding into a wider spectrum of sizes and styles based on feedback and of course encourage anyone to wear them as they see fit! (pun intended, not sorry, I've got a dad pass).

Yoooo, as a lady in STEM (Tesla mechanic) I have a little bit of feedback for you. I don't know if those would cut it for what I do for a living because of that zipper on the side. Considering some of the weird contortionist poses I have to get into every day, there is a risk a zipper could scratch a customer's fancy car, even with it being inboard.

Also, I'd rather just look like as big of a dyke as possible and wear men's work boots, but that is a personal gender-identity thing and I could see some of the other female techs in my workplace would be interested in something like this.

Now that I'm thinking of it, what I would really want if your company is looking to expand its offerings in the future, is sturdy women's work pants with big pockets for all my tools. The men's sizes that are currently the only option are either too small for my woman's can, or too big in the waist.

Excellent, we are thankful for support on both accounts of you all ! If you have a PPE arrangement, or some sort of corporate stipend, for our type of product, we'd appreciate any leads! One of our goals is to get into company sponsored catalogs and etc, so people can know this actually exists!

Understood and we're totally on point with the "you do you" stance, its what led us through a year of surveys and outreach to people and professional organizations, to this product at hand (at foot?).

I might actually have two nice side leads for you RE: pants..... check out some friends of ours at https://dovetailwork...llections/pants AND ALSO https://covergalls.com. They might be solving your exact needs!

I took a closer look and realized that (for predictably good reasons) you’re not able to sell outside of the US yet. But I will definitely keep up with how things develop and share it around once you’re able to get Canadian certifications!

These would be pricey for me, but holy shit are they right up my alley. Slip-resistance especially.

I'm imagining Ellis writing the script to this at a computer, and every time he gets to the end of a line about religion being bad he smacks his fedora to tip it, making the sounds of a typewriter being reset.
