Chat and Voice

We can text chat directly on my Twitch channel. If you want use your vocal cords, we can voice chat on Discord (instructions from SnappleMan and Valence):

1. Make sure your Discord mic settings are set correctly in the settings
2. Go to theshizz Discord server
3. Look at channel list on the left side, see where there are two voice channels: General, Shizz Attack
4. Simply click on Shizz Attack as you would any other Discord channel, you will automatically be connected to voice chat via your mic
5. An active voice chat will show the connected users under the channel name, so you can see who's in there
6. Please use Push-To-Talk. For the love of god, please.

Where is Shizz Attack?

Your house. Don't come to my house lest you get me sick or I get you sick or we both get each other sick with different sicknesses. Now I'm disturbed.

 

What is Shizz Attack?

As mentioned in other threads, I was going to have a small party at my place on this day but I've since cancelled it due to concerns around COVID-19. Rather than be a mopey dickhead, I figured we could find something to do all together. Something fun. Something special. Something...? That's the bit where you come in. I don't know what we should do, but maybe you have a great idea. Share it! Also post here if you like any idea that's already been posted.

 

We're definitely going to:

• Play Jackbox Party Pack
• Watch each other stream games

Other ideas (speak up if you want any of these and/or are willing to help make it happen)

• Watch a movie(s) together
• Game tournament (e.g. play Tetris from 1 to 1:30 PM and see how high a score you can get, then play Mario 2 from 1:30 to 2:30 PM and see how fast you can beat the game, etc.)
• Communal Top SNES tracks listening party
• Stream a mini-concert
• Neo Turf Master lessons

Jackbox Party Pack

• Does anyone know what games work well vs. don't work well via streaming? If not, anyone willing to do some research beforehand?
• Anyone already own any of the Jackbox Party Pack games and can stream them to their channels as a backup in case I hit issues during the day or need to step out?

We have actually been planning an online only VGM concert with sets from various bands streamed over twitch, all hosting each other. Seems like this is a really good circumstance for that, but we were targeting April 11th I think. I am down for just about anything though, there’s no social distancing like distant socializing.

Back in Feb, me and my friends raced in a 12hr simulation race (Bathtrust 12hrs) and the lag between twitch and discord was very manageable.

This might be the best bet. The "watch movies together" systems we tried during previous movie nights has either gotten way too laden with crap or become defunct altogether with no good alternative.

 

Sadly I will not be able to make it that weekend. (April 11's twitch concert night I'm game for though)

I think this would be a good opportunity to break the ice with you all, so I'll do my best to stop by. And I'm totally game with the Top SNES Tracks listening party, and maybe doing something else musical (I'll keep an eye out for ideas because I don't have any currently).

Put together a streaming schedule of different people playing games on Twitch like a shitty GDQ minus the charity and funding and solid organizational skills and any semblance of speedrunning

 

Uhhh if we do something like this I can "speedrun" Double Dragon II lol.

 

A lot of that list looks like fun! Simple tournaments would be cool.

Remember, there's a Shizz twitch group. If you join that group it will be easy to find different people streaming.

 

I'll try to join in in whatever way I can. I'm not sure what limits Discord has for voice chat and stuff but it would be nice to have a server with a few admins that can create "breakout sessions" for different voice channels and stuff. Obviously the more people that can join a room at one time, the better. Could be fun just to play it casually, no tight schedule, just whatever people feel like doing.
