Hi Shizzies!

Wasn't sure if to put this in the Music release master thread, and I couldn't find my ancient (circa 2009) thread about my films.

My last short film Gas Can is finally up online and thought some of you might enjoy it.

Gas Can (2017)

Gas Can tells the story of a Cree family in 1970s Saskatchewan who ask an old Farmer for help when they run out of gas moving to the city. Short of the Week featured the film and did a lovely write-up for the online release two weeks ago if you want any more background and what inspired it (and here's some press from the 2017 festival release for local context). Shot this way back in 2015 (some of you may remember the IndieGoGo) and my life was forever changed by the process, seriously.

My next short film was just approved for full funding (!!) from the provincial government a few weeks ago and I'm really excited to get back into filmmaking. 10 years ago when I was just getting started The Shizz was super supportive, generous and kind to me; Josiah Tobin did the music for my portfolio film to university, and it was so wonderful having a place outside of my immediate surroundings to share and get feedback.

Want to say thank you to all the Shizzies (old and new) who make this an inviting and inspiring nook of the internet. <3

My lady and I watched this the other night and really dug it and enjoyed trying to decode some of the symbolism. Great work man, congrats!

Thank you so much M-H and WilliamTheBard!

William, any interesting things you pick up? Always curious how it plays (especially the ending) for folks outside of the prairies.

Only have an ipad to type on right now which is a pain in the ass, when I can type properly I’d love to discuss t in depth!
