What a stacked month! Thanks to everyone who voted my entry so high! My hands were shaking more and more as the results were announced, I was excited just by getting top 10, let alone getting 2nd place. There were really lots of entries I really liked, but I wanna shout out the two other Chrono entries for covering some of the more underappreciated sources. Great work everyone. <3

 

I don't really wanna go into too much detail about the history of my song, but a CC medley like this is something I've wanted to do for over 5 years (it evolved from an idea I had for the game's 15th anniversary). Chronopolis parts 2,3,4,5 and 6 will be released during the next few years, hopefully in time for the game's 25th anniversary. I've already pinned the sources for each part, and I've worked out part 2 into more detail. Who knows, maybe the second part drops in the next few months if I find some extra free time.

I personally can't wait to hear more Chronopolis parts... even though you've thrown down the gauntlet and announced your intentions, I still think you could/should submit them for future DoD's (if you want to of course). Maybe under a [Subtitle] during voting that could be replaced with "Chronopolis - Part II: [Subtitle]" after the results are announced.

That would still be pretty obvious.

 

I may submit other parts to DoD as ALTs, we'll see.

I mean, sure, but I'd say there's a big difference between a kick-ass Chrono Cross being submitted and a kick-ass Chrono Cross track called "Part 2" being submitted. It's not like anyone's fooled about who it is when there's a choral section and full orchestra in some epic monster track that blows the roof off.

 

And this is before your time, but back in the day, no one was fooled when an Ecco the Dolphin track dropped, and that's gotten a hell of a lot less coverage than the Chrono games. And there is precedent from the Liss siblings and Madara. I remember Movement 1 was in the title when that was first submitted, but I wasn't around when Movement 3 was submitted... I'm not sure if they updated the title after results were announced.

 

I might be alone on this, but I'd say doing music you love and means something to you is more important than bending over backwards to preserve anonymity, especially since there are tones and styles that are almost like a signature for some musicians. I accurately guessed a bunch of the artists from last month on that, and it didn't influence how I voted.

Yo Hakstok to be honest I can usually tell which entries are yours anyway so you should just do it (if you want to) lol. Same goes for quite a few other people. It's mostly about the fun of it all anyway so as long as you're not releasing a track that has you screaming "I'm IVAN MOTHER FUCKING HAKSTOK" in the middle of it or saying "yeah this track is mine pls vote high" during the listening party it's probably fine.

 

Remember that time zykO basically listed his biography in the middle of one of his entries and it wasn't an anonymity compromised? Haha

Then people will shout "anonymity compromised" to the heavens in the Twitch chat, but Austin will know that this isn't the case and you will not be disqualified and will actually win because everyone will vote your entry highly for your cunning display of bravery.
