There's a ton of stuff on YouTube of game music being arranged for other consoles, or using sound sets from other games. Some are hardware, some are done in accurate trackers, some are just throwing a midi into a different soundfont. Regardless, they can be pretty fun to listen to! Post em! Here are a few to get the thread started:

Black Belt (Master System) boss theme arranged for Capcom CP-S1 in Deflemask. Love how they filled out the arrangement and half timed the drums in some parts.

Megaman Soccer Woodfield played in Megaman X instruments. This user PrincessZelda2020 has made a ton of these, mostly remaking songs with MMX/MM7 instruments.

Final Fantasy Mystic Quest battle arranged for Mega Drive. I think this one is Deflemask as well. VGM hunting legend DANMAKUMAN put it well in the comments "Now in FM sounds more like a tune from Ys rather than Final Fantasy."

Savaged Regime (AKA the artist formerly known as GeckoYamori? I think?) does a lot of this for Genesis/MD and has gotten really good at it. Their take on MMX is still my fave:

Finally, a SiIvagunner dumping ground for me.

Crash Man (Mega Man II Game Boy) in the style of Air Man (Mega Man 2 NES)

Great Battleship (Thunder Cross) in the style of E1M1 (Doom)

Savaged Regime is the shit. It was a long time before I noticed that that name is an anagram for "Sega Mega Drive" and I love that.

Here's some SFII music programmed for the Sharp X68000-by-way-of-the Sound Canvas SC-55 MIDI module, which I've always found kind of pitifully charming.

I think I prefer Yamane's version (except that her drums suck!)

Yessssss this is so sick, the GBA sound is so nasty. It’s like the Queens of the Stone Age of sound chips.

LOL, the thumbnail shows Zyuranger, not Jetman. ;) But that's nitpicking lol. The cover actually sounds incredible!

^Well at least the song actually is CSJ! I didn't notice the thumbnail on way or another, was too busy headbanging.

I was 37 years old when I learned that one of my all-time favorite NES pieces is actually an arrangement of a song that originally appeared in the earlier C64 version of the game (I think the NES version is superior to the rattlebaskety C64 version personally!)
