it doesn't seem like you were talking to a human

It seriously sounds like you were talking to an AI bot

Please wait while we find an agent to assist you...
You have been connected to C Agnes.
C Agnes: Hello Mike, how may I help you today?
Mike: i have a question about what I'm being charged for turbotax on the web
Mike: I'm using the 1040ez product
Mike: I'm being charged $19.95 for federal and $14.95 for state
Mike: however, i live in a freefile state, and the 1040ez was only supposed to be $9.95, actually $7.95 since i am a usaa member
C Agnes: Mike, if i have understood you right, you have been charged 19.95$ for fed and $14.95 for state, am i correct?
Mike: yes
C Agnes: Mike, contact the sales and service (1-800-446-8848) and they will guide you better about this issue.
C Agnes: Is there anything else I can assist you with?
Mike: that was really my only question.
Mike: i think i'll just file my return elsewhere
C Agnes: Mike, Can you please stay online while i transfer you to the service department
Mike: sure

Tell us more . . .

Your "tech support" is pathetic. Your product is excellent and I have used it for years to file online, but right now you are trying to charge me $34.90 for something that was supposed to run me $7.95. I can't get a human on the chat service and you're having network connection delays. You want me to call an 800 number and wait on hold for who knows how long to talk to 3 levels of incompetent morons to get to someone who may or may not speak english or help me... Hmm.... see ya! I'm going to taxact.com!

---------------------------------------
Thank You!

Intuit would like to thank you for taking the time to complete this survey. This will help us to become better in serving you, our valued customer.

Thank You !!

Heh heh heh, well there you go. I recommend going to taxact.com to file taxes.

You know I showed this to a friend a while ago-- the correspondence I had and posted , and he said it was a human, but probably someone in India....corperations are using India for tech support and telemarketing more than ever. I just had a credit card company try to aggressively get me to apply over the phone , and the guy had to be on a digital connection from India-- it was trippy, cuz I've heard about it on marketplace (NPR) but never experienced it in person!

NastyD, all I can find on the H&R Block site is something that costs almost $25?

Rich, I've heard about the India thing too and I was wondering about that. I was actually doing some research on getting an MBA. Arizona State has one of the lower average starting salaries for an MBA graduate at $75K a year. Meanwhile the best rated school in India had graduates making $11K during their first year on average.

maybe you can only get there through the irs.gov site.
here's the link they have: http://www.hrblock.c...tpPartnerId=180

but that's only if you made 38,000 or less last year.

I actually signed up with a new login with TurboTax and I was able to file for $12.90. Go figure. <_<
