next friday evening at the home of mig50 and raubhimself there will be a party to celebrate the birth of donald spiderman martinez.
drinks will be drank, foods will be grilled, and records will be played.
bring whatever you would like to eat or drink; we will provide some snacks and whatnot but if you want to put it on the grill you should bring it (though we'll probably have some fodder, just not a lot).
we'll start things at lets say 8pm.

i picked up the new battles single (ice cream) last night.
its okay but i really have no strong opinion of it in any direction. it does nothing to hinder or increase my interest in the new album.
EDIT: i also grabbed unwound's 'challenge for a civilized society' which is fantastic.

i got such a horribly awful feeling when i looked at pictures of joplin last night.
the company i work for has service / an office in joplin and i was hoping maybe there would be an excursion from phoenix to there (with further hope i could tag along to help out), but it looks like anyone headed there from phoenix has already gone.
so it looks like i'm just going to head to the area in a few weeks. i'll be able to catch up with some family / friends and spend a couple days volunteering to do whatever i can to help in joplin.
i talked to my dad earlier and he said basically people wanting to help should just basically stay out of joplin for the time being since they would just be getting in the way. once the emergency workers have taken care of what they need to do it will clear up room / space / stuff for volunteers, etc.

i was born in joplin where that last monster hit.
a lot of my family lives within 50 miles of there but fortunately they are all okay.

everyone's friend any my future roommate, raubhimeslf, is flying into phx today and we are headed straight to la tolteca for dinner and beers.
should be getting there around 515-530ish and we'll be staying til they run out of beer.

i really hate both sides of this argument because they are both extremely narrow-minded and silly. lets just shut the fuck up about this and get back to talking about the good aspects of the greater phoenix metropolitan area.
EDIT: what i'm trying to say here is that maybe we should focus on the good things about particular areas (phoenix, scottsdale, tempe, whatever) instead of trying to shit on the others. i am confident that all cities / areas of the valley have cool things going on if one is willing to look for them. no need to start a pissing match about it.

i'm 28. every year of my life has been better than the one preceding it, despite plenty of pitfalls.
