The Trunk Space has charged more then $6 for a music show less then 5 times since we opened 3 years ago. This will be a rare $7.00 show.
There is simply too much to say about the 3 touring acts on this show. Individually, they have toured the world, been on countless TV shows (Conan O’brien, MTV, Letterman, ect) been featured in dozens of magazines (Spin, Chunklet, Rollingstone, AP, Mean, Bust) and produced some of the most wonderful music ever recorded to disk. Bob Wiseman (www.bobwiseman.com) is a member of the seminal rock bands “Blue Rodeo,” and “Shadowy Men on a Shadowy Planet.” As well as many other projects. He has been making music for years.
Jason Trachtenburg (www.slideshowplayers.com) of the world-renowned Trachtenburg Family Slideshow Players. Jason is well known for the unusual career niche he has carved as the dad in the Trachtenburg Trio. Together his wife and young daughter make elaborate concept LPs out of slides they find discarded in thrift stores and garage sales. Their work has been featured in everything from The New York Times, to Teen Vogue!
Magali Meagher is The Phonemes (www.thephonemes.com) is a self-confessed language nerd (the bands name literally means “the tiniest linguistic unit you can use to change the meaning of a word”). The Phonemes use music to explore communication deceptively simple intricate songs. Magali is also a former member of the band Hidden Cameras. Her newest LP, features contributions by members of “The Arcade Fire.”
