Things are coming along WONDERFULLY – we’ve set up a beer garden, two stages of rockin’ music (THANK YOU!!!!), local food and art vendors, a huge kids section with a petting zoo and carnival games, specials and live art at many of the businesses on 7th St., and 10 amazing historic properties in the Coronado neighborhood that guests will be able to see by twilight. As a reminder, tickets to the event can be purchased at www.gcna.info/tour and are $10 if purchased before March 1st and $15 if purchased at the ticket booth on the day of the event. All of the monies go to maintaining the Coronado Neighborhood, paying for our portion of Fight Back grants and neighborhood block watches, planting trees, maintaining the community tool shed and veggie/herb garden, revitalizing our 7th St businesses as part of the 7th St. Coalition and more! We encourage you to post this event on your MySpace pages, in your businesses, and out in the community!

We’ve got two stages set up – one in Coronado Park on 12th St and Palm Lane and another in front of the Tuck Shop (www.tuckinphx.com). The park lineup begins with the North High School marching band who will walk/perform from North High School, down 12th Street, and into the center of Coronado Park where they will get the attention of the neighborhood with their drums and horns. We’ll then have the opening ceremonies from the center of the park where Mayor Phil Gordon will speak and we’ll have a brief introduction to our sponsors. The Emerson School Choir will follow shortly with a couple of songs and then we’ll be off and running.
