During this year’s ART DETOUR, Alwun House proudly presents Femocracy: a subversive monthly comedy show featuring a diverse array of brainy, comedic insurrectionalists. Among the Femocracy brain trust are comedians & producers of award-winning Valley underground comedy shows, such as Modest Proposal, Muff Mondays, and The Remember Abraham Lincoln Comedy Show.
Acts include live and video sketches, stand up, improv, music, parody, dance, burlesque, live game shows and even hand-made giveaways from local arts community stalwarts. In the lush, exotic gardens, under the stars, performers and aficionados share laughs and revelry, mixing and mingling in the steady sway of the soothing, melodic soundtrack.
Springtime Is For Lovers will be hosted by local lovebird legends Ernesto and Anna Moncada, and is shaping up to be the highlight of your spring! Forget the insane sinus pressure buildup and the annual bourbon-and-sadness-soaked retirement of your prestigious jacket collection. Celebrate boning season, and Art Detour 2010, in style at the most magical performance art venue in town!
March’s lineup includes:
· Hosts Ernesto & Anna Moncada (hosts of Firestage, Grand Avenue Live, & Conspire Art, Music, and Poetry shows; musicians, writers, actors, lovers, and fighters)
· Improv from the Light Rail Pirates (featuring talent from Phoenix’s own Torch Theater)

· Naughty Comedy Dance from The Cheeky Monkeys
· A Live Appearance by The Discount Light Rail Cops
· Special Guest Appearances & Prize Giveaway by Femocracy’s own Amy Jean Page & Jacki O.

Spring Time Is For Lovers at Alwun House opens doors at 8pm for a relaxing, ambient music set; at 9pm, the laughs start. Since this show is for lovers, expect to be titillated, tantalized, and satirized.
