SXSW Music -- March 16 through 20 in Austin, Texas -- is primarily a
music industry convention. All music fans are sure to have a great time,
but access for the general public with a Music Fest wristband is not
without limitations. Flexibility is the key -- if a show is sold out
there are more than 50 others to choose from. Wristbands will only be
sold in Austin, on a walk-up basis as long as they last, and they cannot
be reserved in advance or purchased over the phone.

SXSW 2005 Music Festival wristbands will go on sale in Austin on
Thursday, February 24 priced at $110 (maximum two per person; cash or
credit card only) at Waterloo Records ONLY. When the first 2000 $110
wristbands sell out, OR on Monday, February 28 (whichever comes first)
the price will change to $130 (maximum four per person; cash or credit
card only) available at Waterloo Records and Encore Movies and Music
ONLY. When the second 2000 sell out OR on Wednesday, March 9, the price
will increase to $150 (maximum four per person; cash or credit card
only) at Waterloo Records and Encore Movies and Music ONLY. These prices
include tax and all service/credit card charges.

Music Festival Wristbands guarantee that you won't have to pay cover
charges at SXSW Music venues. They don't guarantee entry into sold-out
venues, nor do they provide entry for minors into clubs that don't admit
minors. Many shows will sell out and there are age restrictions at most
venues. SXSW convention registration badges will have priority entry
ahead of wristbands at many shows. A limited number of single admission
tickets will be sold at most venues the night of the show.

So was anyone able to get $110 tickets. My Austin friend was only able to get $150 tickets. I guess they sold out really fast. I don't remember them offering only a limited amount last time. Last year we paid $105. That's a hefty increase.
