I have one of those. It's tough to learn to use, but really useful. You pretty much have to spend a bunch of time experimenting at first to get the drum sound you want, but once you know, you can just dial it in.

I have used one before, but only for a short time. I am not that obsessive about drum sounds anymore... mine usually sound pretty good even with old ass heads =)

Vistalites

And when I feel like dialing, I just use this one

yeah, i've used john's before. he's not kidding about the time you put in. it worked really well once and i used it a second time and my drums sounded horrible. <_< it's ideal for drummers who have no flaws with their drums (shells, rims, etc), then it works great!

Mine works great, but now that I'm getting better at tuning by ear I try to do that more often.

Call me crazy, but I think musicians should know how to tune there own instruments. I think there is something to the process of learning ones craft, paying ones dues, over time, that adds to the depth a musician has.

Just kidding.

I'm glad you said 'almost'....

I don't need the guilt of knowing a fine mouthful of beer was wasted on account of my stupid comment.
