i have been out for one week four hours six minutes and 37 seconds. the weather is a slightly balmy mid seventy. yesterday i we visited Niagara falls and performed at sound-lab with a band called lozlo. they invited us to stay in their area where there were multiple college parties we could attend. i felt a slight irritation in my chest and head that i attributed to lack of sleep. today i awoke rested and preceded to take a lengthy shower. there was dandruff shampoo in this gentleman's shower so i was able to alleviate the itching in my scalp that i had been experiencing the last few days. now, mike is showering and i imagine after that, jarad, then we will go eat. in about four hours we will be on the road to syracuse where we will perform again and possibly party. the nature of the architecture back east makes me feel solid in its rigidness. the overall personality of the people is direct and masculine (maybe because we haven't hung out with any babes....).
the sky is hazy and reminiscent of my dreams when i was younger. I have been eating well, no fast food, jarad is a vegan. i have sold a massive total of 7 or 8 cds. i have spoken with some younger people who have been inspired by my set and feel great to have possibly assisted them. i like the green countryside..
thanks,
love,
-ryan

..i awoke in syracuse in a hurry. It was nearing the super eight check out time and i wanted to grab a shower so my hair looked decent. A quick rinse, the we're off to an oil change where i sit now. This town reminds me of guido. lots of large, loud men and testosterone. We played last night at a rather bland bar last night that didn't seem to welcome new music. Granted there was the pair of drunk bro/hippies noodle dancing and hooting every four bars. Regardless they were the only people really there, well, beside for to very nice genuine fans. These wonderful people had actually searched out our bands on myspace and were very apologetic about the weird scene. They even bought a cd and a t-shirt.
After i played i went outside the club to smoke and noticed a scabby faced young girl making a heroin transaction in the alley behind the club. Then lymbyc played to the two noodlers and then loslo from buffalo. over all it was a good night in music,. i felt we all played well. We had fun and, even if only a few were there to see us, the two actual fans made it worthwhile. Then we tried to find a place to stay.

We mentioned to the only 3 strangers there that we were looking for floorspace to sleep and nobody responded. The club promoter (who didn't actually do any promoting) left before the show was over, so, we decided it was time to spend some of the little money we have on a super eight motel. After driving for a short while from the club we managed to find our golden destination. You see, on tour in order to save money we have to buy a single room for one and then sneak the rest of us in the back. This is usually not a problem because we tend to roll into hotel city around four in the morning, so there is usually some sleepy young guy watching japanamation in the back room who couldn't give a fuck if we sneak extra people in. For some reason this guy stood and watched the van so we had to play a waiting game until he got bored and went back to his little sleepy t.v.....

it eventualluy all worked out and when my head hit that floor i was out like brain killer.

Last nights show in Ithaca was for a massive crowd of two people. The bar was similar to the former sail inn in tempe except it had a massive sound system that the sound man didn't like to turn up past two. He had my monitor really loud so I thought everything was loud and full but apparently the only volume in the room was coming from my monitor...lame. .At least out of the two people who were there, one of them has a cool band that records with the guy from the flaming lips. Hows that for hip cred. We stayed in another hotel somewhere in upstate new york. I'm in the van right now on the way to albany. I just stole a bunch of music from Jared's ipod so I've been anxious to put on some headphones, listen to my bloody valetine and write this. How teenage of me. I've just had so many dreamy gazes out car windows listening to 80's or 90's alternative that i just wanted to see if I could re-create that. I think its working. The sky is grey, the landscape is wooded and green. Its fun to daydream about what the next city is going to be like. Its easy to fall into a romantic daydream about miscellaneous things or people. I think its also kind of dangerous because it can distort your perspective of reality...its still fun sometimes though,I just can't take it too seriously.

Where do these small towns hide there people like us? I know there in there somewhere, hidden underneath piles of normalcy. I wish I had a magnet to draw them out of their surroundings...boy this eighties music is making me nostalgic.

Breen!
I am glad that you are "blogging" 'bout your tour. I am also glad to hear that things are going well. It sounds as if you are having fun despite the 2 person show! It happens. I am also in serious rock denial. Have written "Herky Jerky" and need your guitar stylings soon! Chirs and I will rock sans guitar until your triumphant return. Anyhoodle, there is talk about setting shows up in August. A return of Bobby Teenager is on the horizon! Have fun. I will talk with you and even perhaps give you a jingle to chat about your tour.
Lates!

hi allison, i am exited to get behind the six string axe with you and chris!
hooray for albany

We pulled in to beautiful Albany yesterday at around five p.m. so we had time to get some delicious thai food. immediately we knew we were back on track and in the right place. The people were friendly, good looking and the scenery was perfect. After eating we got some coffee and noticed a small write up in the local paper promoting our show, this put us all in a great mood. The venue was small, dark and covered with band posters which made me feel right at home. The opening band "The Hero Cycle" were all very nice and approachable. They were made up of six guys and one cute babe that played keyboard and sang backups. They had a fast, mostly major melodic driving sound that made made me want to dance. They were very good. When i played afterward I felt very "on" except for my last song when my hard drive came unplugged and my ram buffer could only playback in a really weird meter, I still felt very good about it. Finally Lymbyc followed and they sounded good as always. The promoter Julia offered a place to stay with her and her very nice boyfriend Ryan so we gladly accepted. Their home was an opium den of sorts with a great little music room. We probably woke the neighbors playing until 4 am. I awoke the next day next to their pet ferret licking my foot. He was very cute. I am now sitting in the van on the way to Burlington vermont looking at some of the most beautiful countryside i've ever seen. I think tonight's show will be fun. yippee
