recipe for my favorite sandwich:

ingredients:
bagel
egg
milk
1/2 avacado
cheddar cheese slices
tomato slices
onion
butter
clove of garlic
microwave oven
conventional toaster oven

Directions:
Slice bagel in half, slice avacado, onion, cheese and tomato

Crack egg into bowl, add small amount of milk, microwave for one minute

Slice garlic clove in half and rub all over the bagel slices, then add a thin coat of butter

Put cheese and onion on slightly buttered bagel, put bagel in toaster

Put egg on onion and cheesed bagel, top with avacado and tomato

Voila!

anything with a bagel, avocado, and a clove of garlic has to be good.

this morning I made a sausage egg burrito and used Mrs Renfro's habenero sauce, it was to die for.

i'm not saying i want to compete with dynamo, but this is my favorite breakfast "sandwich":

ingredients:
two slices of thick "texas toast" style bread
1 egg
1/4 cup milk (whole milk preferred, but you can use any kind)
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 tablespoon of flour
about 1/2 teaspoon orange zest (optional)
sugar
cream cheese
jelly (of your choice)

directions:
pretend like you're going to make french toast.
put the egg, milk, and vanilla extract in a bowl and whip that shit up. add the flour until to thicken it. if you really want a thick batter, add more flour, but you just want it to stick well. if you want to get saucy, you would add the orange zest here as well.
take the cream cheese (a couple tablespoons full - roughly the same amount you'd put on a bagel) and mix in some sugar (maybe a 1/2 teaspoon full?) until it tastes deliciously sweet. this usually works best if the cream cheese is soft.
take a slice of the bread (it actually works better if the bread is a little stale, or you can put it in a 200 degree oven for like 10 minutes before hand to dry it out a little bit) and then spread some of the cream cheese mixture on it. don't spread all the way to the edge, because you don't want anything to leak out. then take the other side of the bread and spread on some jelly in the same fashion. i prefer strawberry, but this is your sandwich so do whatever the fuck you want.
put the sandwich together and then dip the whole thing in the egg mixture and let it soak in a little bit, like 15 seconds per side. make sure both sides are coated.
put the sandwich on a hot griddle, preferably with some butter on there to help brown it up (but you could use margarine or cooking spray - just don't use oil - that would not be good).
brown that sandwich on both sides. it should look like a giant french toast sandwich, but it will taste like awesome.

if you want to put yourself into a diabetic coma, you could pour syrup on top, but i don't think it needs it. if you don't want jelly, you can add other spices (cinnamon or nutmeg) to the cream cheese to give it more flavor.

an easy, cheap lunch idea i made the other day, with lots of customization options:

hotdogs
buns, rolls, or other bread of your choice
some sort of grease or oil
cheese of your choice (american works best)
spices (i like cayanne pepper)

fry hotdogs in skillet
pop on some spices
throw some cheese on the bread
toss the hotdog on, and squeeze on condiments

i think it might be good if after the hotdog was placed in the bread, you put the whole thing, bun and all, on the skillet and toasted it up. if you have some saurkraut, toss it in the skillet after the hotdog looks about halfway done.

this is really simple and takes all of 5 minutes to make, for those times when you want something good, but don't want to spend time making it.

I already posted my melty pesto sandwich recipe, so I'll post a different recipe here.

French bread
Olive Oil
Garlic cloves
Tomatoes
Basil or Cilantro
Black olives
Swiss or provolone cheese

Take as many pairs of bread slices as you want sandwiches and rub the inside of each slice with a clove of garlic. Then, brush the same side of the bread with some olive oil. Stack the cheese, tomato slices, olive slices, and basil or cilantro leaves on the bread. Pour a bit more of the olive oil over the veggies and top with another slice of cheese. Put on the other slice of bread and eat.

My boss said the other day he was going to throw out the second half of his sandwich because I'd already had lunch, but in fact he put it in the fridge.

I ate it today. It was like garlicky moist chicken salad with fresh spinach and some mellow cheese, on muffaleta or focaccia or something. Damn. And I had felt queasy upon getting up this AM, felt icky at work, then got back my appetite and was starving when I hit this sammy. Perfect.

For some reason it didn't dawn on me to put in some of the crations I make at work (a sandwich shop).

One of the best old ones is:
Foccacia bread
pizza sauce
onions
ham
salami
provolone cheese

grill that shit, and don't mess it up with lettuce or anything remotely healthy
