as you may, or may not, know, the paper heart is in jeopardy right now, and may be closing at the end of the year.

scott's decided to go down swinging, and has organized a benefit show called open heart surgery on november 11. more info can be found here.

the paper heart has done a lot for the shizz, as well as the phoenix arts/music scene, so it would be a damn shame to see it close.

please, everyone, try to make it to this show!

if you're unable to make it, you can help out by going to any show at the paper heart, buying a beer (or several), or you can make a donation at the paper heart website. every little bit helps!

this is definitely something we should all rally behind. let's save the paper heart!

Oh, they serve Low Life, I bought one last night, it was $1 (but I was playing so it might be $2 for others). They also serve PBR cans for like a buck or something.

Here's a quick look at the schedule for Saturday:

$10 for a show that spans from 1pm to 1am, and pretty much has something for everyone.

Also, from what I understand, Mayor Phil Gordon will be there between 1pm-1:30pm. I'm crossing my fingers and hoping that he'll do one of his famous tap dancing routines that he usually only brings out for his staff's holiday party.

Anyway ...

SOME OF THE ITEMS TO BE RAFFLED;

- Red Ibanez Guitar - donated by Perfect Timing Entertainment
- Yamaha Digital Keyboard - donated by Dawn Admire
- Harley Davidson gift basket - donated by Satans Angel
- Satans Angel gift basket - donated by the Mistress herself

on the positive (not so positive sounding) side:

It looks like Counter Culture Cafe on McDowell has closed.
The good news is, they're moving into the Paper Heart.

. . . Could be all this fundraising work is going to pay off and the Heart'll stay open?!

Go! Team! PHX!
