hey all --- I've decided I'd like to add a guitar outfitted w/ p-90 pickups to my collection. I'm broke, or near enough to it. there's a couple promising leads on craigslist, but nothing I'm too crazy about. any ideas? thinking something like a les paul jr w/ 2 pickups... anyone on the board even use p-90's?
to trade or sell:
1972 fender super six reverb... transplanted into an excellent condition late-70's 2-10" cabinet. very cool amp, just too much power for me (100w). basically a silver faced twin reverb but more portable and voiced a little different with the 10" CTS speakers. new footswitch. value around $500.
1951 gibson GA-20... little 12w tube amp, partially restored, but still needs some work. ton of potential. value around $200 as is.
1984 squier bullet star-1.... made in japan, top notch for a squier. amazing tele neck on a strat-like body. value around $200, plays & sounds like it ought to be worth 3 times that.
let me know.
anyone else got something they'd like to throw into an online swap meet here?

I've had a change of heart: I'm gonna keep the Super Six Reverb.
Instead I'm now offering my Epiphone Galaxie 25 guitar amp.
this is how I described it on craigslist.
epiphone galaxie 25
good sounding 25w tube amp, 2 x el84 power amp, 3 x 12ax7 and 1 x 12at7 preamp. tube driven spring reverb, one channel. clean, loud amp. keeps up with drums without any trouble, also responds well to pedals. sound is vaguely brittish-inspired with it's own voice. not fendery, though it sounds great with my telecaster... in general responds better to humbuckers to my ear. I know the prices below are a little optimistic, but given the upgrades listed, it's totally worth it.
all tubes have been upgraded! jj's in the power amp. some valuable NOS 12ax7's in the preamp. makes for a big-time tone improvement.
$200 - original celestion seventy 80 speaker (ok, not a great match for amp).
$240 - older celestion vintage 30 from a marshall 4-12. an improvement.
$270 - eminence "red fang" 30w alnico. much like celestion alnico blue. AWESOME match for this amp. has been played maybe 40hrs, so broken in but not much use.
anyone need something like this? pm me...
